I have on several occasions during this entire horrible fiasco seen a picture or something of Terri Schiavo and suddenly remembered that this is a person and not a case. I then feel great compassion not for Michael or her parents but for her. I feel confident she would not want all this hubbub and hatred going on around her on her account. I don't know her, but I still feel that way.
So I wonder if it's possible that her parents keep on and on making this on some level more of a fight and a struggle and a case than an individual in order to avoid the pain of dealing with the loss of their daughter on a personal level without even realizing it.
Just a random thought.
I think that there are a number of issues working here. I think that the Schindler's are in major league denial about the extent of Terri's condition.
On top of that, they are being egged on by groups who just reinforce the Schindler's denial.
I do wonder the same thing, BVT.
Thing is, only people intimately involved have any chance of knowing.
I just feel terrible sadness for all involved.
Kinda reminds me of Jarndyce vs Jarndyce - only worse.
