My favorate song of all time is Aerials by System of a Down. I have no idea why. I just love that song. I guess it is because i connect with the lyrics so well. I just love it.

I love this song too. I really like the brooding music in a minor key that sets a very specific mood and scene (at least for me) and then juxtaposition of that with what to me are very hopeful lyrics. I think this is an amazing song.

"Aerials" (System of a Down)
Life is a waterfall,
we're one in the river,
and one again after the fall.

Swimming through the void
we hear the word,
we lose ourselves,
but we find it all...

Cause we are the ones that want to play,
always want to go,
but you never want to stay.

And we are the ones that want to choose,
always want to play,
but you never want to lose.

Aerials, in the sky,
when you lose small mind,
you free your life.

Life is a waterfall,
we drink from the river,
then we turn around and put up our walls.

Swimming through the void,
we hear the word,
we lose ourselves,
but we find it all...

Cause we are the ones that want to play,
always want to go,
but you never want to stay.

And we are the ones that want to choose,
always want to play,
but you never want to lose.

Aerials, in the sky,
when you lose small mind,
you free your life.

Aerials, so up high,
when you free your eyes,
eternal prize.

Aerials, in the sky,
when you lose small mind,
you free your life.

Aerials,so up high,
when you free your eyes,
eternal prize

Nature Boy (music and lyrics by Eden Ahbez)

There was a boy
A very strange enchanted boy
They say he wandered very far, very far
Over land and sea
A little shy and sad of eye
But very wise was he

And then one day
A magic day he passed my way
And while we spoke of many things
Fools and kings
This he said to me
"The greatest thing you'll ever learn
Is just to love and be loved in return

"The greatest thing you'll ever learn
Is just to love and be loved in return"

Lumina (Joan Osborne)

Lumina
Come and wrap around me
Lumina
Take me through the snow

Eve took a train, eve took a train
Went to see her man
Melting inside, melting away
Like butter in the pan

Lumina
Come and wrap around me
Lumina
Take me through the snow

Eve took a fruit, eve picked a fruit
Juice ran down her chin
Babies will put things in their mouths
Never heard of sin

Lumina
Open like the sea
Lumina
Sing me in the dark

Eve had to ask, eve had to ask
What is wrong with this
Here is the place, now is the time
Let's invent the kiss

Lumina
Come and wrap around me
Lumina
Come and wrap around me...

As dumb as this sounds "Beautiful" by James Blunt is starting to grow on me.

Maybe because it has something to do with the fact that it's about admiring someone that you can't have.

Right now, it's a weird little ditty by the White Stripes called Little Room. It's super-short, but great. It's only a simple drum beat with lyrics, but the lyrics are great. Check it out!

NeoGuin- I really like James Blunt. His album hung out with me all summer. I think 'Cry' is a lovely tune.

But I'd have to say my favorite song at the moment is 'Tatoo' by Joseph Arthur. It's circular melody have been running around my head. I like it cause it's describes lost love without being too sappy or slight. Just the right amount of regret.

My favorite song at this very moment is a horrible song called C*nt Tease by P*ssy Galore.
It's not a good song; but it is addictive and I find myself singing it all the time lately.

*
Well I'm not too big on words
oh, no talk and no show
But if you catch my eye you better know
That I'll do you in girl
Do what I please
Cause I'm nothing but a c*nt tease

Fill you up with b*llsh
Lead you on to nothing
Fill your head with lies and anything
Got you where I want
Down on your knees
Cause I'm nothing but a c** tease.

Gotta a lot of girls trying to pass my test
Yeah, I take what I need and throw away the rest
They always come back 'cause they are so f*ing dumb
I tell ya baby I'm Number One!

Think you're really something
Think you're something special
For what I do to you I should burn in hell
Gonna suck your tw**
F*** the birds and the bees

Nothing but a c*nt tease
(f*ck you. You're so F** Up!!)

*Heard this song for the first time in such a long, long time tonight- I have it on vinyl - but no turntable right now. I first saw this video in a Pizza Hhut in Chapel Hill, NC with Tracy Ullman playing the housewife with the shopping cart and Paul McCartney as her husband - and it was "our song" along with the guy I was with at that time. It brings back such wonderful memories.
By the way flushed - when I first read the title of your favorite song - I thought it meant "Can't Tease. Tell me - does it mean a man who teases a woman or does it mean a woman who is a tease? It makes a major difference you know...

They Don't Know About Us - Tracy Ullman

You've been around for such a long time now
Oh maybe I could leave you but I don't know how.
And why should I be lonely every night
When I can be with you - oh yes you make it right

And I don't listen to the guys who say
That you're bad for me and I should turn you away
'Cause they don't know 'bout us
And they've never heard of love

I get a feeling when I look at you
Wherever you go now, I wanna be there too
They say we're crazy but I just don't care
And if they keep on talkin' still they get nowhere

So I don't mind if they don't understand
When I look at you when you hold my hand
'Cause they don't know 'bout us
And they've never heard of love

Why should it matter to us if they don't approve
We should just take our chances while we've got nothing to lose

Baby!
There's no need for living in the past
Now I've found good lovin' gonna make it last
I tell the others 'Don't bother me'
Cause when they look at you they don't see what I see

No I don't listen to their wasted lines
Got my eyes wide open and I see the signs
'Cause they don't know 'bout us
And they've never heard of love
Oh they don't know about us-
And they've never heard of love....

In this life I've seen everything I can see woman,
I've seen lovers flying through the air hand in hand
I've seen babies dancing in the midnight sun,
And I've seen dreams that came from the heavenly skies above
I've seen old men crying at their own grave sides
And I've seen pigs all sitting watching, picture slides
But I never seen nothing like you.

CHORUS
Do ya do ya want my love
Do ya do ya want my face
Do ya do ya want my mind
Do ya do ya want my love

Well I, heard the crowd singin' out of tune,
As they, sat and sang Auld Lang Syne by the light of the moon
I heard the preachers bangin' on the drums,
And I heard the police playin' with their guns
But I never heard nothin' like you.

In the country where the sky touches down
On the field, she lay her down to rest
In the morning sun,
They come a'runnin' just to get a look, just to
Feel to touch her long black hair they don't give a damn

CHORUS -- repeat

Well I think you know what I'm trying to say woman,
That is I'd like to save you for a rainy day,
I've seen enough of the world to know,
That I've got to get it all to get it all to grow.

CHORUS -- repeat

Oldie--but goodie.

Do Ya

ELO
