@MiTierra43,
Ouch to us old timers ! Yes I admit I practically lived there as much as I could afford anyway, funny how that pint lasted all night.. Who do you remember and where are they now?

Not been by for a good while but last time I passed it had been flattened and the pub (what the hell was that called? Salutation maybe?) That too, bugger me pass me the cocoa!

I only remember that loads of skinheads went to the Mayflower it was a didused cinema which is now a travel lodge. It had a large wooden floor and a stage at the front. There were frequent fights and people looking like they were fighting but actually that was dancing it was a bit scary for a girl. Jan now aged 54 and designing alternative clothing

@MiTierra43,
Yes, saw loads of them at the polytechnic from '77 to about late '78 - early '79.

The last time I went to the Mayflower was later summer or Autumn 1978 to see the Damned.

Other good venues in those times included; The Ranch Bar on Dale Street, The Electric Circus on Collyhurst Street and The Russell Club in
Hume.

Some fantastic times around that mid-late 1970's period.

@garethflo,
Yep Muppet from Armed Force. He lived in Aus' for a while, but now back in Manchester where he's a college lecturer. Before joining The Brigade, I was in Protest and gigged with Blitz sometimes. I left because of the Oi! thing too and didn't care too much for the guitarist's views.

Hiya Anita,

I live in Yorkshire, but frequent Stalybridge and Manchester all the time. Not seen Andy for years, but he's OK. He lives down South. Hope you managed to form a reunion OK.

@MiTierra43,
Yes i saw The upstarts, Exploited, and Kennedys there. Plus all the oi bands, Business, four skins etc and Garry Bushell there, Black Flag, Crass. It was a dive but i loved the place, afterwards having to avoid the perrys from kicking your head in was an added bit of excitement

@garethflo,
Muppet lives in Didsbury. I met up with him a couple of years ago. Both his daughter and my daughter are of a similar age (26), both followed a career in acting, both met up, by accident, for the first time, last week. Small world.
