Ecological footprint

I think most of us have already heard about our immense ecological footprint, for those who haven't: the gist is that we're using 20 % more resources at least than we should. I think it is the best way to really show recent ecological problems because your ecological footprint gets bigger if you use your car a lot, destroy the forests or just produce too much waste. An average Amercan's footprint is about 5 times bigger than it should be, but French, English and German people's footprints are large as well. Don't you think it's the most threatening danger in history? Do governments do enough to prevent a catastrophe? What steps are taken in your country? What else could be done?

I am not sure I would rely on government to regulate the waste we use. Of course , the only way to get people to care about what they do is to make laws ( unfortunatly Rolling Eyes )
But I believe it is an individuals responsibility as a single human being to take care of what we have. resources depleat as does our abilities to survive with out them. So there needs to be a balance.
How to get there?
Oy, if I had that answer I would be rich and living in a recycled home. Laughing
