Honestly, I can't sort it out with our politics in CA relating those former Soviet republics. It's not transparent and is looking contradictory enough. Instead of building bridges of friendship with local peoples we are aligning ourselves with their brutal dictators. The positive achievement of this is just the true fact we are now present in this part of the world rich in untapped oil and gas reserves.
Now I guess we are initiating quite a different policy in CA. We can't establish democracy in this brittle, deeply impoverished part of the world. We can't use opposition forces there like in Georgia or Ukraine for sheer fact there is actually no matured opposition in CA. Well, we used to fight terrorists active in the region. I remember very well the grisly destruction of IMU units in Northern Afghanistan 3 years ago. But now our vision of IMU appears to have changed greatly. The prime target of IMU are corrupted dictators of CA countries oppressing their peoples and establishing instead of the single Turkestan state comprising Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and even China's Xinxiang province. We are supportive of Turkmenistan president Nyazov. The man is engaged in lucrative drugtraffic business. The substantial profits go into financial footage of IMU in particular. I came across this info not once in the Net. Interestingly enough, Bush's having a blind eye on this. Why?
What if Nyazov's going to use IMU to create such a state to stay at the wheel then? What if it fits our plans in the region? One single state with the loyal man in charge would make it easier for us to achieve our energy goals in the region. Later on Turkestan could be transformed into a civilized democratic state.
