Acquiunk,
....Your signature reminds me of a Bob Gibson story:
...One day BG was pitching in game on the line situation. A latin ballplayer stepped to the plate, and made a sign of the cross. So Bob did the same thing, then looked up and said,"Okay God, now whose side are you on?"
"It's not easy being green..."
Kermit the frog
Crazy Guggenheim broke my 6 year old heart. Every week. It was his singing. I didn't even remember it until mentioned above. The irony was lost on a child. All I saw was a sloppy drunk and then he would sing so sweetly and it was too much for me. I'd cry.
I always thought every one loved Oprah.
I also agree with Captain Kangeroo - loved him as a little child.
Lucy is cool in some ways, but in other ways she was always messing things up so I don't look at her as a good role model. Now Mary Tyler Moore was one of the first decent women role models (although she could be pretty ditsy too at times).
I think a case could be made for Art Carney, (Ed Norton on the Honeymooners).
The guy had ONE season and people still bring him up.
But we probably need someone else with more longevity.
Lucy was okay, but somehow her humor never quite grabbed me and shook me to the bones. Of course, I was very young. But Lucy just seemed to be overemotional and stupid, sometimes.
Overall, I would call it a tie between three people.
Andy Griffith, Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore.
Have you ever met anyone old enough to remember the first run, who didn't LOVE everything about both those shows?
Lightwizard and Kelticwizard.....any relation?.....Hee-heee
(I know, I'm tho thilly)
I hate all celebrities when they get too popular. I especially hate Oprah!
I can tolerate Bob Vila more than most other celebrities on TV.
The TV personality I've loved the most was Norman Gunston. A brilliant once only/never to be repeated act, he was! But unfortunately you'd have to be Australian to know what I'm talking about. He was unbelievably, hysterically, over-the-top funny!
Keltic is a distant cousin on the Merlin side of the family.

Today I'm leaning towards Elizabeth Montgomery as Samantha Stevens. I absolutely adored her.
Jon Stewart
well, he's a host. But since his lines are scripted, you could kind of make the case that he's an actor.
Anyways, he gets my vote/love.
