I would suggest that an Atheist will either make the claim that they don't exist which is ridiculous because how can an atheist that doesn't exist claim any stance at all?

Or secondly, an atheist will adopt the stance that they do exist but not in a way that the human experience matters ultimately.

I would suggest that if you want to bring the human experience into the debate then you need to make a clear distinction between "exist" and "alive".

I would suggest that you need to divide atheists into two camps therefore.

Those that believe that they don't "exist" which is a puzzling stance as I have explained above and those that believe that they do "exist" but don't believe that they are "alive" but rather believe that they are "dead".

I would suggest, as Izzy says, bollocks. Believing is a knowing.

@izzythepush,
Yes, a computer that EXISTS but can't make up its mind whether it does or doesn't.

That doesn't make it "alive" though, does it?

@Jasper10,
Possibly only in your personal universe, and probably not in large numbers of other universes. You are not the master of the Metaverse, large hat size aside.

Nothing. But knowing the unknowable is a fool's errand. Pontificating on the knowing of the unknowable is at least a low form of comedy in your hands.

@bobsal u1553115,
So answer the question ...how can anyone or anything make a claim one way or the other if they/it doesn't exist?

As izzy has suggested, a computer can claim that it exists and doesn't exist.Who cares what it claims.It still needs to exist to be able to make a claim.

It just doesn't matter ... repeat after me: it just doesn't matter ... it just doesn't matter ... it just doesn't matter ... it just doesn't matter ...

@Jasper10,
Which is not the point I made.

You keep making up stuff to argue against.

You're a walking advert for solipsism.

@bobsal u1553115,
Well I agree that a computer THAT EXISTS could claim that is does and doesn't matter whether it exists or doesn't exist.

If you have an assertion to make...make it. (If your assertion is sorta like "1 + 1 = 2 in base ten"...why bother?)

So make a meaningful assertion...and we can discuss it.

@Jasper10,
Davos Seaworth is an atheist.

Are you saying he exists?

@Frank Apisa,
I have made an assertion Frank.

Anyone or Anything that makes an assertion about whether they/it exist/s or not MUST exist or how can they/it make that assertion?

That is a question, Jasper...NOT AN ASSERTION.

Give it another shot.

We have a chance here to actually have a discussion.

Make an assertion (hopefully working toward whatever you are trying to share here.)

.......who's making the rules here you or me? let's be clear on that first.I have made an assertion and then asked a question........I have different rules to you.

I am not making any rules.

I am simply asking for you to finally make an assertion.

Instead, you want to do that wandering you suppose to be your evolved thinking...the supposed thinking that you possess and that everyone else lacks.

Make an assertion or continue the bullshit. If you choose the latter, I will be back to call it to your attention.
