Budweiser is good because then you are supporting those Budweiser Bays.

Have you ever tried a mini-kegs of beer? They cost about $15? Those are good.

I think if I had to buy cheap beer it would be Pabst Blue Ribbon.

I've got lots of favorites.

Austria - Trumer Pils (better than Urquell)

Czech Republic - Pilsner Urquell

German - Franziskaner or Weihenstephaner Hefe Weiss

Belgian - Hoegaarden, Klaster, Chimay Trappist

Dutch - Konings Hoeven dubbel Trappist, Hollandia (inexpensive option here)

G.B - Fuller's, Newcastle

Ireland - Guinness Stout, Mackeson Stout, Murphy's Red or Stout

Mexican - Pacifico, Bohemia, or Negra Modelo

Canadian - Molson Lager

American - Sierra Nevada Big Foot or Pale, Sam Adams Lager, Flying Dog Pale

Hello Valdo... Trumer Pils is better than Pilsner Urquell? I'll have to look for it.

I was trying to find the brand of beer that I liked in Mexico last year... I thought it had Oro in its name, but it must have been (based on perusing this website http://ohhh.myhead.org/ctrindex.html) Cerveza Modelo Especial. If you happen to go there, you'll see the site contains a long, long list of rated beers. I didn't recognize any of the highest-rated ones but question that any beer aged 29 years would be good.

Oh, what the hell ... double-post from the other beer thread:

Quote:
Heineken, Bass, Guinness (extra stout), Sam Adams (LOVE the 'Winter Lager'), Grolsch, and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale ... with the occasional evening with Bud, Mickey's malt liquor, and Labatt Blue.

A friend in America tells me he can buy these, but I'm not sure whether they are available everywhere there.

Two very popular "real ales" here in the U.K. are:-

1.Greene King IPA

2. Abbot Ale.

Popular graffiti on pub toilet wall........."If the bottom is dropping out of your world, drink Abbot. Then the world will drop out of your bottom."

If we're talking only about beer you can buy in many (or most) places, it's hard to beat Sierra Nevada pale ale.

Slappy mentioned Genesee. I have no idea if it even exists anymore, but that and Utica Club were brewed in Upstate NY when I went to school there. Anyone else remember UC? They came out with something called Maximus Super at one point; the urban legend had it that it was strong because it contained formaldehyde...
