Hey there, li'l smoking bunny.
You're sure looking awful funny.
Gald to see this thread's alive,
Ready to receive more jive.

I'll add to your invitation
To the new posters' generation:
Come, be silly, willy-nilly,
With rhyme and/or alliteration.

Hey, this is the first time I've seen this thread,
And like the rum and lime, it's gone to my head.
Imagine the thrill of spending time
Saying nothing at all but all in rhyme.
I'm sure that I hate Andrew's avatar
But if I rhyme it, it's better far
He won't be offended, that makes sense -
Because the rhyme's worse than the offence.
Sozzled I may be, but merry too
Gents, good night, fair ladies, adieu!

Welcome, Clary,
Quite contrary
To this frabjous thread.

It's quite scary,
So be wary
Of some of the things that get said.

It's Quite easy
To be breezy
And to write greeting-card verse.

It can be sleazy,
So don't be uneasy,
Just be verbose, not terse.

The terser the verse,
The worser,
The verboser the verbals,
The more the poet burbles
But if that's okay
Chocks away!

I used to doggerel special days
Anniversaries and weddings
But then I went into serious phase
War, love and suchlike headings/
Now I've come out the other side
I think my serious side just died.

The intellectuals to be had on a2k
Will scare away the lesser foe

The aggressors be scattered like weed
The timid should take heed

But if one should stick it out
All the hurdles will come about

Making your time on a2k threads
To be not a thing to be dread

Oh fools and jesters all
Are those who post on this thread
It nearly makes me bawl
To have seen the dogg'rel I've read!

These insults may bring a blush to my cheeks
(the ones on my face, as well)
This silly thread's now been running for weeks
Yet the tides of poetry still swell!

Well I just spotted this jive too
And if you don't mind, I'll try a few
It would be sublime, just to try some rhyme
To get your feet a-tappin' and to pass the time

I join the ranks
of the ridiculous rhymers
for it seems that this game is quite fun

An old entertainer
These posts keep on gainin'
Enjoyment. Where will they run?

For nearly three years
the thread has continued
in the ranks of the noble '2knowers

Let's keep it going
For the fun of newcomers
And keep this the very best forum!

Hey 'Chizza, the rhyme that you have rhum
Does not maintain the rhyme that it should.
Could it be that you've been struck dumb
By the prose of the poets who are good?

If my rhyme is not on
Your meter is flawed
Your type of poems the masters discarded

Your word choice, invented
poets have fathomed
you write like a hamster retarded!

'With what wit you have writ!'
A fool might admit
As he reads the drivel above.
The truth, know the learned
Is that you have been burned
But this site, I know we both love.

Poets? Good? Where are they?
I've not read back, but I've got to say
This verse is worse than a badger's bum
And I ought to know, cause I've written some

At the least you admit,
Oh dear McTag my friend,
that your poetry is not the best.
For ours don't befit
The true poets in the end
I agree, 'good poets?' I jest.

"Your verse is worse than a badger's bum"
Says McTag with certainty -
But I avers a badger's bum
Is something I espy with glee.

Retreated I have to the badger's bum,
For a rap battle was not my intention
But it seems the poetic web we have spun
Has become one, to my apprehension!

Whether days be cloudy or sunny,
We must heed the advice of the bunny.
We rack our brains,
Feelin' the strain,
In an effort to be very funny.

Rap? Crap, avers this chap
Tho' I'm stuck in the groove, and it's catchy
I'll come round soon, give me a slap
And I'll change to a rhythm less scratchy
Dlowan dear, you need never fear
I'm a sucker for doggerel, patchy
