I've never been much of a poet,
My way with big words ain't unique,
But a joke that is dirty,
With words that ain't purty,
Will roll off my tongue as we speak!

Just dropped in to add some fuel
To this delightful doggerel duel.

I see Dlowan is a silly floppy-eared bunny
Contentedly puffing away,
Phoenix ,one staring green eye, it's funny,
'Cept, Thumper's been dumped to my dismay.

Jes got a dog so she won't be alone,
And Fishin's a walrus who's way overfed,
M.A. is still The Grey Fox clone,
And Jjorge's a babe with a pumpkin head.

Sozobe's a dame with vim and vigor,
And Debacle looks just like Mark Twain.
Craven is Poe? I don't know, you figure,
In case I don't pass this way again.

Oh, before I forget to introduce myself
I'm the cute little pup with a spot or two,
Who should have left this poem on the shelf, Embarrassed Smile
But couldn't resist doggerelling with you. Very Happy

Doggerel away, Aggie! Doggone good doggerel (he said, dogedly). Dueling doggerel -- is that like verses versus verses?

Thanks for the compliment, M.A. Embarrassed I'll be doggoned, its getting late so no more verses versus verses tonight for this little dogie. But, before I hit the trail, please enlighten me. Did you ever see the movie, The Grey Fox, with Richard Farnsworth? Cause, you're the spittin' image. Dogonnit, if you aren't.

Raggedyaggie writes wonderful verses,
Just see if she doesn't, I happily say -
But here's one bit that I just has to versus,
She says that my bunny is silly! No way!

Bunny has lived and she's covered all bases,
She's done everything, and she's worn out the shirt,
With clear, weary eyes, she's scanning your faces,
And, covering her irony, ready to flirt.

Woof! Great doggerel, Aggie! :-D

How do I love thee, A2K?
With avatars and field of grey?
I answer stuff and poll my friends
I hope the charm just never ends
Of your greatness, I'd love to bugle
but I'll settle for a spot on Google.

Ah, Jes, you are too kind. Embarrassed Here's woofin' at you kid!

Dlowan:

How could I have ever been so blind
Silly bunny? Why couldn't I see
Eyes cunning, sexy, all-knowing , kind.
A most humble apology to bunny from me.

Bunny says it's of no matter,
Bunny says don't let it sweat,
Wonders, should she get a cat, or
Is your puppy safe to pet?

Jespah wants a spot on Google, for her site with fields of grey,
Of its joys she'd love to bugle, on and on, day after day,
Loves its avatars and features,
Loves its folk and loves its creatures -
Jespah has a right to bugle of this site so fresh and gay,
Has a right to aim for Google - she helped make the site this way!

When bards get together for a pint or a sip
And munch on crackers smeared with CheezeWhip,
Do they ponder meter and rhyme,
Speak in metaphors oh so sublime?
Or, like the rest of us mortals,
Do they just sit and chortle,
And go on with their clowning
And parody Browning
And plan the next lit'ry crime?

Oops. Here's my complaint:

You ABLEBODS are really Great,
But you've caused a dire affliction.
You are the master of my fate
And to blame for my addiction.

Computer room - a cloud of dust,
Bathroom fixtures - encased with rust,
Leave my computer? I know I must,
But, I'm afraid to go into the kitchen.

And that's all I have to say about that. Confused

Doggerel is hard to summon,
When I'm tired and hot and sore -
When I'm vacuuming, the humming
Makes me want to spit and roar!

Hanging washing cold and clammy
Makes me want to run away.
If I do, I know that, damme!
'Twill still be there another day.

Brushing cats is NOT seductive
And the fur gets up my nose,
But, if I don't, they're so productive
Fur will cover all my clothes!

Tidying and dusting, also
Do not make me want to sing,
But clutter covers all the floors so
I must do that dreaded thing.

But the thing that makes it blues day,
Spurs me on, through dust and sneeze,
Is the cleaner comes on Tuesday,
So I cannot take my ease!

Happier now, MA?

PS dlowan, I just saw your post at the bottom of page 5. <shniff> Thanks!

Cats and tarant'las, original artwork
Postings and pollings and new members that lurk
Avatars of so many wonderous things
these are a few of my favorite things
