Hello, I have a question about Black Milk by Elif Shafak. Her autobiographical novel about motherhood and writing. I noticed that she portrays the Djinni (in the end) who takes over for the Thumbelinas, as a gay man. Has anyone given any thought as to why he is portrayed as GAY?
