I went to the optometrist for a eye exam for a new eye glass prescription. When the doctor took a photo in my retina there was a black shaped crescent. My doctor said it was nothing to worry about but did not give me any details and I did not ask any questions. I've been looking online for something similar but can't find anything. Honestly I'm just curious what it is and if anybody else has experienced the same thing.
@klp1990,
I sometimes 'almost' see such a crescent in the extreme left of my left eye. First occurred after cataract surgery and barely noticeable at this time.
@klp1990,
You'll get a much more accurate answer if you ask your optometrist for details.
@chai2,
I'm kind of surprised he or she didn't elaborate at the time of the exam.
@klp1990,
Thanks for the replies, I have a appointment in the next month for new contact lenses so I will follow up with doctor then. Just to clarify I saw the photo of my retina and he called it a crescent and that's when I saw the black shape in the photo. I don't actually see it in my vision, I saw it on the picture.
