Ok, you train your muscle to grow leaner or keep your body fit by hitting gym. What is the thing you can do to" Train your mind",To have control and make it do whatever you wish to, which I feel is pretty much difficult coz mind keeps wandering.
I feel having control over mind will help you reduce the factors which makes life difficult.

Ps: please answer apart from yoga.

@natureboi,
This is mental discipline. Recognize that if you've got ADHD that you'll probably need meds of some sort.

But if it's just some inattention, then you'll need to start finding activities which engross you. That might be crafting or binge watching or reading an engaging book or a lot of exercise or whatever. The more full attention you pay to things, the more you should be able to.

I play poker. It gives me a chance to spend a couple of hours focused on one single thing.

@maxdancona,
I paint or draw for several hours each day. It doesn't give me peace of mind, on the contrary, but it does sharpen my focus.

@natureboi,
I think the best thing to do to essentially "train your mind" would be to set small goals every day regardless of what they are. From there you start to build towards bigger goals. This always helps me focus and at the same time I feel like I am actually accomplishing something. Another big thing is to do things as if they are routine. If you commit to something or want to commit to something you should do it at the same or around the same time every day so your body and mind expect to be doing it. I hope I am making sense.

@natureboi,
Recalling my education days... there are different "skills of mind". Each one has to be trained differently.

If you want to increase focus on repetitive tasks, I would think you should do repetitive tasks and test yourself for accuracy. If you want increase short term memory, there are scientifically developed ways to do this. If you want to learn critical thinking, take a position that you wouldn't ordinarily take and then defend it rationally.

The human mind is adaptable; it does a very wide range of things. If you want to improve some task or another, just practice that task.

@chambergirl,
Establishing 'routines' is a great way to distract yourself from the 'NOW'.
It's awesome for machines.

I NEVER greet a new day the same way.
I AM NEVER who or What I was before Now.

Hi!

Like this:

My reflections so far "why things are what they are":

Lacking education, and workspace
The spreading of illegal subtsances and drugs
Chaotic relationships and lacking parenting
War on drugs, war in foreign countries, war in my head
Poor medical and mental health care

What I can do:

Call for help
Finish school and show a major interest towards education and involvement
Look for a job
Respect the law and manners
Non-tolerance against drugs and to not drink alcoholic beverages

What I can expect from other people:

Accusations and blame
Hurt
Aggressive behavior
Jealosy
Patience (and understanding)
Crime!

Etc... Reflection games and more! Watch time as it goes by!!!!!!!

Also reading books, solving sudoku and memory!
