Is it just The Hobbit or would it also be The Silmarillion?

All I know is what the press release said.

I get the impression that it will be set in the period between the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, and they will be writing new material instead of just retelling the official story. But my impression could be way off. If you read the press release you'll know as much as I do.
