I apologize for going off topic, but duck feet thru me into a tizzy. It's all Izzy's fault. Well, not really his fault, he didn't know I get lightheaded even thinking about animal parts that are no longer on an animal.

I really can't understand why, the pig didn't need them any more - most of the rest of it went for human consumption.

@glitterbag,
It was a company in Aylesbury where a lot of ducks come from, there’s even an Aylesbury Duck.

I’ve seen pig ears and snouts at car boot sales.

To quote Homer Simpson, “Mmm snout.”

For humans, there is no greater source of food than a pig.

The only part of pigs humans do not eat...are the oink oink's.

@Frank Apisa,
I did hear an apocryphal tale about pork pies. Apparently anything could go in a pork pie, bone, teeth, hair the works. They just have to be in the same proportion in the pie as they would in the pig.

If that were the case back when, it’s certainly not the case now.

@glitterbag,
the chicken trotters included all the meat and grizzle with toenails cut off. I think the TAiwanse chefs would let the feet kind of "turn" a bit and then use them in a broth nd serve them on the sides of the pot.

The salt helped the broth flavor.

@glitterbag,
There is a lot a stuff I will eat (less now) and there is a lot of stuff I won't eat. One thing I use to say, "I won't eat anything looking at me."

True. I remember ordering a meal at a restaurant in NYC's Chinatown — "456" — and they had something called "pork muscle". Sounded good from the written description. I asked the waiter what it was and got an unintelligible response. I figured, what the heck, and ordered the dish. The pale meat was very "chewy" and circular in shape with an open center. I figured out that it was pig's intestine. I'm one of those "cast iron stomach" guys and wolfed it down, but I was careful not to reveal exactly what I was eating to everyone else.
