Applications, nominations and suggestions are being accepted for the First A2K Shakespeare Festival.
Ideally, we'll perform a comedy, a tragedy and a history.
Although Elizabethian theatrical traditions accepted cross-gender casting, men playing women's parts, we are much more liberated. Any part is open to any actor.
I'm partial to the Shakespearian fools, but I'm willing to be guided by the majority.
Resumes would be welcome.
Casting Call repeated. We'll need to choose a play and cast before the snow melts.
I want to meet Ophelia...
I think I should be Hamlet, since the play is loosely based on the saga of Amlódji, written in the X Century.
I could also be Ariel, in "The Tempest".
Am also willing to play female roles, but only if they're fun (say Lady Macbeth).
I always wanted to be Shrew, can I please? I even had some one refer to me as that once.
Although I will NOT be tamed!
MOULDY, SHADOW, WART, FEEBLE, or BULLCALF for me.
As a direct decendant of the man, I will happily take any role assigned to me be it a leading role or a backstage supporting role with equal enthusiasm...although I must say I picture Snood as Juliet, not Othello....
Dibs on 2nd Witch, MacBeth, Act IV, Scene 1
Yorick (his skull, specifically).
A small yet prominent role, with no troublesome lines to memorize.
Puck
(whaaaa..??? I wouldnt make a good fairy? )
Shewolf--
Puck? Personified chaos?
Snood, meet Dyslexia. Dyslexia, meet Snood.
Who is going to play Desdemona?
as Lady Macbeth said "y'all have a nice day, ya hear"
I want to be the Ides of March.
I'll help design & paint the sets .... Lots of experience at that!
Oh & I'm an excellent prompt!
Edgar--
With the low budget that the management offers we're going to have to fill in with a lot of symbolism. Would your rather wear a toga or be costumed as a Rock of Fate?
Incidently our first production will be Othello. How are you on carrying spears?
msolga--
Believe me, finding crew can be harder than finding cast. How do you visualize Othello?
Keep in mind the Very Low Budget (We're not even going to pay the actors).
