I was 10 years old when he went on the air, 40 when he retired. Johnny Carson had a huge impact on what I find funny. He introduced me to Mort Saul, Steve Martin, Albert Brooks, Garry Shandling and a whole host of others.

We bought the vcr set for dh's grandparents a few years back. We watch them over and over.
