You are right. I stand corrected. I do maintain my definition of "court packing". Trump never attempted to have more than nine justices on the Supreme Court.

I think it was At the age of sixty five that I finally got the meaning of that. How losing your life could possibly lead to finding it. Turns out it is possible to lose everything in your life without dying, and while having ‘everything'. That actually happened to me. It does suck. Worse than depression. I hated being alive. It was only in my seeking the reason for it that I found my real life. Only then did I get what he was saying. Not that my ramble will explain it to you. Just saying it did happen that way for me. But it does suggest that going through that kind of experience might be a necessary thing in order to get it.

Actually, there is some truth in what both you and Izzy say.
There were two main reasons:
(1) There were many American citizens that acted horribly in regard to American society. The 1960's was the beginning of the deterioration of America. However, ever since Obama took office, the decline has accelerated. Trump slowed down the decline. Biden has accelerated the decline to a disgusting extent.
(2) The enemy did not engage in conventional warfare. Instead they used guerrilla warfare. They were also very dedicated.
They "kicked our butts" in the same way we "kicked England's butts" in the late 18th century.
