Are all men obsessed with the "sensible shoe" subject?
Beth, about the weather. These last few days (which have been considerably cooler than those the week before) it's been warm in the sun (on the sunny side of the street) and quickly cold in the shade. And as you may know already, the sun is not shinning directly on the street except for those hours from late morning to 5 pm at best. So, just in case you haven't thought of this, bring layers. And not just layers but be sure to start with something sleeveless that can be easily made warmer with one or two next layers, all of which of course have to be transportable by some means that is comfortable. It's a trick that took me several weeks to perfect. And even then I still goof up some. I thought I knew how to layer, but each city has it's own unique characteristics. It's always warmer and sunnier for longer on my balcony (which faces South) than it is on the street. So if you're staying in a hotel on a higher floor, you can't go by how it feels out the window. You have to try it out on the street to really know how it's going to feel.
What sort of hat are you bringing? It needs to stay on your head pretty well. It's sometimes very windy between buildings, etc.
Oh and don't forget to bring sensible shoes
Dag,
Yes for the food at my place. Since it will be afternoon, I'll have good snacks. These snacks can and often do turn into a complete meal. Or at least, after snacking, I often feel completely full. I always over estimate how much we need. So come hungry.
