Laundry is finished.
Next project, lining up minders for Mr. Noddy, Recycled Bachelor.
Last load going into the dryer now.
Making a list of phone numbers and addresses and writing it out twice.
Considering the hat options. 60 Fahrenheit may not be quite right for the hat I'd planned to travel with.
Such a cinch you have it... the week I was there the temp changed from 40 to 80 daytime highs in one day...
At least the first couple of days look stable, who knows what next weekend will bring for weather.
I'm having a bit of a packing crisis. Don't want to dress as if I'm going to work, but can't dress as if this is a camping trip. <sigh>
Comfort, comfort, comfort....
She's worried about hats . . . TAKE YOUR SENSIBLE SHOES . . . Dog knows you've got enough shoes to choose from . . .
shoes
nahhhhh - that's an easy one to sort
You're packing already? Don't you have several days yet before you go?
I'm with you in spirit, ehBeth, and enjoying the preparations vicariously...
I'm not packing yet, just contemplating the various scenarios.
Need to be comfortable, but not so obviously comfortable that they won't let me into Chez Josephine.
Considering the black on black on black wardrobe option, but it's a bit Sicilian widow at the office. Mebbe the best option, but a bit, errrr, black.
<maybe I should pick the hat first, and work from there?>
Noddy may be getting close to packing as she heads out before sunrise on Monday morning.
do what i do. take everything black and then colorful shawls, hats, handbags... works great and is fun.
That's my regular work shtick, dag, so I was hoping to think of something else - but I suspect it's gonna end up with me doing my Sicilian widow routine again (which my Sicilian neighbours get a kick out of - as I usually have more black laundry hanging out than they do).
Just returned from an evening with Garrison Keillor and the Prairie Home Companion gang down at the Town Hall Theatre. Very New York show for something that contains six numbers on the fiddle and accordian by Scottish MBEs. Listen to the repeat tomorrow on your local NPR station.
More later

New York Songlines
If you click on the link for any of the streets listed on the home page (which, so far, only go up to 42nd Street), you'll be taken to a "virtual walk" of that street, complete with an explanation of how the street got its name, and comments about the history of the buildings on the street, who used to live in them, etc. It appears to be pretty up-to-date: the "walk" for Hudson Street already shows
Jacques Torres Chocolate Haven, which opened late last year, at 350 Hudson.
playing with this site - thanks, bree!
(are you coming out for tea sometime?)

If we can find an agreeable time. What's good for you?
Aw, I miss Garrison. Minnesotans think of him as ours even though he goes off to NYC and such now and then. (Am I Minnesotan? As much as I am anything, I guess.)
I'm going to p.m. you, bree.

am I a waiting in line type? maybe I will be next week
I just walked home from 52nd and 9th avenue...holy ****, ehbeth, I hope you get a night like this when you are here. It was misty, foggy, and unbelievably beautiful tonight. Walking home was just amazing. I think the word "wow" was invented for the way this city looks on a night like this.
I can't even express how blown away I am by the beauty of this city sometimes. It amazes me that concrete blocks, cement sidewalks, and granite buildings can be so beautiful. How the hell could that be? But it is...it just is.
Damn, I am truly going to miss this city when I leave...
So, who all has cell phones? I want numbers for the saturday gatherers. At least a few please....
Hey, what are you doing up so late?
