Eh, it's not so commonly known...
BTW, to my original question: google search revealed Americana Inn in mid-Manhattan that looks decent and is cheap, if anyone is looking to stay in NYC for bupkis (OK, well, for NY standards anyway)

There are some really good places you can hook up with through Craigslist - the place The Empress and I stayed at time before last was pretty posh - and there are some cool East Village spots.
I'll be in NYC on 23rd and 24th Oct...possibly longer. Just sayin.

The thing is that I just thought about my three bars post and I haven't been in a bar in over a year and half. I've been to dinner at restaurants and had a martini or two (but not on the same night.) but I no longer just dive into a dive for a dip.
