You can organize everything except the weather and the speed of the commuter bus.

From what I've seen, I wouldn't be so sure about this, Noddy.

I am going to suggest dinner for Friday evening at a great Chinese place I know. Great food and very reasonable prices.

so we'll drink lotsa iced tea or somethin' at Georgio's til we've got all but the local worker bee/s together then head out to Frankie's recommendation?

A wave from the increasingly distant B and J. Presently in Baker City, Oregon. Fell absolutely in love with the parts of Pennsylvania we travelled through. Dodged a tornado in Nebraska and skirted the edge of a huge hailstorm (in a new car, serious hailstorms are seriously anxiety-producing}. Highway meals are just one more indicator of the precipitous decline in american culture following upon the immoral acceptance of lesbianism in the vice president's household. Many people in the midwest have very big bums and like plaids. No speeding tickets accrued as of this point. I love long drives like this, particularly through country I've never seen before.

wow! you must be nearly 'home' now.

Pennsylvania's lovely, isn't it. That state has just about everything - if it included New York City, it'd be a perfect state Cool

Have a great time setting up your new place out there.

Walter's well on his way now ... whoooooohoooooo

mctag - when you're doing your big drive, consider a detour toward Montreal/Toronto - we've got a lovely country up here as well - maybe not as many A2K'rs, but we're awfully polite.

Good for you, Bernie.

When I was in Penn last fall, and that's where I met friend Nodders, I was very taken with the scenery.

Trees, lots of trees. And hills. Hills with trees, trees on hills.

You're going to like Oregon, I can tell.

...and all the little roads, winding up the hills and through the trees.

Since I am a pale & languid sort of person, I picked up some sun screen today. Perhaps everyone else is going to hit the Big Apple with a healthy base tan. I intend to go home rosy rather than pink.

Back in the day when I had an expense account, I ate in some of those places. Barbetta's (magnificent, beautiful establishment), Orso's (bene), Bistecca Florentina (not sure if it was this one; but whatever I'm remembering was good), Broadway Joe's (slurp), Gallagher's (slurp and a half), Joe Allen's (one of my all-time absolute favs--ever).

Enjoy, kid.
