EhBeth--

The Big Apple survived 9/11. I'm sure I'll come and go without a ripple.

McTag--

Thanks. All kind thoughts are graciously accepted.

So as not to Set My Hopes Too High and Break My Craving Heart, I didn't pay close attention to itineraries (except to drool a bit).

I'll be arriving in NYC early on Friday morning.

Is any part of the schedule set in stone?

pm me with where and when?

~~~~~~
Walter's arrival is pretty much set in Amtrak stone. brendalee, Eugenie and I will be greeting him on his arrival at the station. Friday, noonish. Hopefully Frank will be joining us around that time.
mac11's arrival is also set - later Friday afternoon. Georgio's Country Grill is where I thought we'd aim to be about 5ish to wait for mac11.
Once we're in a bit of an A2K clump and wandering, the Kixster should be on his way to meet us.
Other A2K'rs have been pm'd with the general plan.
~~~~~~~

Weather dependent - Governor's Island, Saturday a.m. to early p.m.

~~~~~~~
Sunday morning - Central Park, or breakfast then Central Park.
~~~~~~~

The canajun contingent has a few other places we need to get to - but no timelines encased in cement.

I'm so excited, oooh-weee
I just can't hide it
Oooh, I'm about to lose control
And I think I like it, oh, yeah
I'm so excited
And I just can't hide it, no, no, no, no, no
I know, I know, I know, I know
I know I want you
Want you

And you can hear it in my accent when I talk
I'm an Englishman in New York

See me walking down Fifth Avenue
A walking cane here at my side
I take it everywhere I walk
I'm an Englishman in New York

I'm an Englishman in New York
I'm an alien I'm a legal alien

Farmerman--

Wonderful.

Mac--

I'm excited too.

EhBeth--

I have to get an absolutely up-to-date bus schedule, but I'll probably be alighting from a Martz commuter bus at the corner of 14th and Broadway (just off Union Square) sometime between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m.

I've also got to coordinate with my college friend--and ditch my suitcase....

...and uncross my fingers.

omifreakin' gawd! the fman and Nodders!

Noddy, you can always leave your luggage with us if you're there by 7:30 a.m.

farmerman, do you want to join the Canajun gals on our early Friday morning Staten Island Ferry ride? We'll be leaving from Union Square at roughly 7:30 a.m.

~~~~
I'll p.m. our contact info to both of you.
I spent today with the Empress, wandering around Toronto's Doors Open event, and testing out my planned New York walking shoes. I think I'm in business. Seven and a half hours of walking, and my toes still look like toes.
Friday morning after the Staten Island Ferry adventure, we're considering a visit to the National Museum of the American Indian. It's just at the edge of Battery Park - a short walk from the ferry docks.
Admission:
Admission is free, and the building is fully accessible.
Location:
Off the Map: Landscape in the Native Imagination
March 3, 2007-September 3, 2007
George Gustav Heye Center, New York
For Native people, land has multiple meanings. It is home, culture and identity, but it also represents violence, isolation and loss. The artists in Off the Map reinvent and examine landscape from this complex perspective, creating work that exists outside of Western landscape traditions. Their work also defies common expectations of Native American art in both its form and content.
When I met Bernie, he took Thomas and me to the Natural History Museum by Cantral Park. I mention this because it also has a wealth of exhibits on North American Indian culture (can I say that?) and also from the Pacific Islands.
I love that stuff, have done since I was a child, and regrettably there was so much to see I could not get the time to do it justice.
So, at another time....
Have fun, folks Smile
