Boston to NY is about a four-hour drive. They have supercheap buses that go from NYC to Boston and back. Last time I took one it was only about thirty-five bucks round trip. I'm sure it can't be more than forty even now.

Amtrak is a bit more expensive. (All schedules already looked at  )

One a' these AMTRAK trains passed me when I was standing at Norwalk Station waiting for the local train to Manhattan and very businesslike they look.

Not quite DB standard, but pretty good.

Just a joke, was that. The cat was a purrfect gentlewoman and did not trouble me at all.

Took me about three days to adjust to European time, though. Well, when you get to my age....

Are you missing not having any yurpeans around the place?

better Fung Wah than Amtrak. The Canajun news is often noting Amtrak derailments - and when Amtrak derails it seems to be spectacular.

One Fung Wah v ongoing Amtrak upsets ... ?

(given that I used to dream of a cross-US train trip, that's very sad to write)

Well, good. It looks like lots of you good good folks are considering making the trip. It would be a verrrrrrrry good party. Do us all some good. Y'all think about it. And I'll continue to encourage.

McTag and Thomas, I'm still missing you.

Oh Lola, the mistress of gorgeous legs, my trip to NY has been postponed yet again this week (the americans don't want me to come there you see) and I cannot travel next week. I am afraid that I will have to bear the pain of waiting to see those marvels of nature for some more time....
