What do you mean, QUITE?

I had bright sunny weather for the drive over to CT and I must say the scenery on Hughway 9 and Interstate 84 is very lovely.
So, still 'lucking out' with the weather, which was forcast to be much worse, with a chance of snow. It is warm and balmy at the moment.

Now being looked after by friends in Ridgefield. Which is nice.

It was very nice meeting you, Noddy24, I hope you understood my strange accent, and I will not hold you responsible for the fact that two maps of the area give your town in different places. Luckily I had left enough time to get lost twice and still get to the rendezvous in time. Laughing

McTag--

Most of the Zip Codes in the West End of Monroe County are characterized by natives who have gun racks in the back of their pickup trucks.

I move in a more pacific sphere and this does create some confusion in the mundane charts.

Hold your dominion.

Okay here I am in the very pleasant public library in Wilton, Connecticut. The weather is fine, cold & clear and the trees still bear a lot of their autumn plumage. The colours are wonderful. This is an ace spot.

But what has it got to do with the NYC thread? Well, tomorrow my excellent host has tickets for a Broadway show and we're going in early (on the train: because of the Marathon congestion) where we we'll see some of the Marathon goings-on, walk in Central Park and take in the show later.

BernieL and Lola, I have just purchased more time on my Wal-Mart Tracfone so I will call you sometime before: maybe an early meeting for a coffee might be possible? I'm sure my excellent hostess would like to meet you too.

Tonight, we eat Italian then see a movie followed by a talk by the director, in Ridgefield CT.

thomas is indeed here, having joined us for dinner saturday evening. Last night, Helen joined lola and I. McTag reached us by phone yesterday but we weren't able to get together then, shall do so today.

Ought to be an interesting night tuesday with all the above named, plus kickycan, frankapisa, joenation (hopefully) and wives perhaps. georgeob may join us as well which would make two republicans, the modern minimum for acceptable tokenism.

It ought to be noted that anyone else living nearbye or visiting the area would be quite welcome to join us.

A question...exactly what I am I supposed to grab when an American tells me to "hold my dominion"?

Have a good election night party all.

Can you post on A2K during the actual party on Tuesday night? I would have loved to be there.

Crying or Very sad I'd really liked to meet my two favourite Republicans from the flight-department ... even if when surrounded by commies. Crying or Very sad

Yes I am, and I've already spent a very pleasant evening with Blatham and Lola. It's such a pity that these nice people are such communists as to prefer an all-Democratic Congress to the gridlock I favor. But we all packaged our mutual insults gracefully, and I, at least, had a great time with them.

Glad you're enjoying yourself, Thomas. It sounds like McTag is having a good visit as well. The Chicago contingent is green with envy that 1) we aren't there and 2) you all aren't here, but we'll cope as best we can.

Continued best wishes for good times and safe travels to you all.

I'm attending in spirit. The little ectoplasmic blur on the ceiling near the balcony door will be part of my dominion.

Sorry I couldn't answer this before now, as I had no stable computer link where I was and A2K kept unravelling.

The movie was Cinderella Man (Russell Crowe and Renee Zellweger starring), the story of J J Braddock, a champion boxer of the depression years who won the world heavyweight crown from Maxie Baer and later lost it to Joe Louis in a notable bout.

The director Ron Howard spoke entertainingly afterwards and answered questions generously and informatively. The evening was arranged by the Ridgefielsd Film Society, and was a sell-out, rightly so, very good.

The play on Sunday was Losing Louie., very entertaining, a family generation drama with plenty of humour and pathos too, and a good cast.

Yes your princeliness, I will be here on Wednesday insh'allah.

Hello to all my other friends. Have now met Blatham and Lola, and they are even more delightful than you thought.
