Once upon a time, in Russia, people of the religious persuasion used to festoon a corner of one of the rooms in their houses with icons of a religious nature and came to call this little piece of heaven "The Beautiful Corner".

Kasimir Malevich, creator of the work above, caused quite a stir when he first exhibited this piece. He hung it in the corner of the main room and dubbed that, "The Beautiful Corner".

By itself, the painting is uninteresting, but taken in context with the social and artistic upheaveals going on in that period in Russian history one can only wonder why we don't all drink more vodka.

Malevich couldn't have known how much this painting would resemble a flat screen monitor when he painted it...

Spooky , huh ?

LionTamer--

Irony division. Your copied photo looks a good deal like a blacked-out television screen.

Beautiful corner.

I think I held up remarkably well for having a killer bunny so close to me

That is Liza Minnelli, just below me and Eugenie Laughing

450 pix downloaded, edited and re-sized. About 20 on Image Shack. With any luck I managed to start a new photoblog page last night - I'll find out tomorrow when I try to load all of the pix.

I marvel again and again when I look at the photos at how bright New York is.

It's just such a damn vivid city.

Love it love it love it.

<sigh>

Can I afford to retire there?

ehBeth--

That is one of the best pictures of me that I've ever had taken.

When I was a tiny child my father took elaborately posed snapshots which involved sitting very still for a long time--and sitting very still for a long time was neither amusing nor comfortable.

Damned if my kids' father didn't do the same thing to them!

You've broken the curse!

Very Happy

Noddy - you're a very good subject - just give me a chance, and there will be a fine album of Noddy-live-and-in-person shots!

Region - I was quite taken by that one - when it happened, and then when I uploaded it. Have you made it to the Region tribute photo section? I was definitely thinking of you at one point <"does Region know about this?">
