Once upon a time, in Russia, people of the religious persuasion used to festoon a corner of one of the rooms in their houses with icons of a religious nature and came to call this little piece of heaven "The Beautiful Corner".
Kasimir Malevich, creator of the work above, caused quite a stir when he first exhibited this piece. He hung it in the corner of the main room and dubbed that, "The Beautiful Corner".
By itself, the painting is uninteresting, but taken in context with the social and artistic upheaveals going on in that period in Russian history one can only wonder why we don't all drink more vodka.
Malevich couldn't have known how much this painting would resemble a flat screen monitor when he painted it...
Spooky , huh ?
