@BillW,
Hey Bill, glad you are sober and happy... I am approaching 4 years without a drink or any drug and I am loving life.

I quit in my 50s and did not have any physical withdrawal symptoms other than a number of drinking nightmares.

I am glad that chapter of my life is over though. I still live one day at a time but those days have turned into months and years. The idea of drinking occasionally crosses my mind but I do not linger there long, it seems ludicrous the very thought of it.

I prefer my sobriety and good health.

Best regards Bill! Stay safe and congrats on 30 years!

Great points Cob! I am celebrating another milestone.with you, one that I can look "forward" into the future now. On Tuesday I will be celebrating my 25th Wedding anniversary.

After 5 years of sobriety I figured I had good enough sobriety to get married, again. Of course, I did this in counsel with all my sponsors and a few good friends in the program. I have been blessed for god to have brought the best women to have walked the face of the earth into my life.

Now I have another cool thing to celebrate in my life tonight - your birthdayπŸ‘πŸ€—

Here's a little birthday present for you:

we will know a new freedom and a new happiness
we will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it
we will comprehend the word serenity and we will know peace
we will see how our experience can benefit others
that feeling of uselessness and self-pity will disappear
we will lose interest in selfish things and gain interest in others
self-seeking will slip away
our whole attitude and outlook upon life will change
fear of people and economic insecurity will leave us
we will intuitively know how to handle situations that used to baffle us
we will suddenly realize that God is doing for us what we could not do for ourselves

@BillW,
Have a lovely wedding and congrats on 5 years Bill! πŸ‘πŸ˜˜

I was at step 12 before I quit alcohol... the only thing I was lacking was not drinking. Quitting drinking made it all work. 😁
