Didn't want to screw up my new thread with this question...but...

...since poster Calamity Jane has posted a few times over there...I though I would ask:

What do you think of the portrayal of Calamity Jane in HBO's Deadwood?

I thought it was f***in' awesome!

I love the show, and I especially liked the way she was portrayed. I'm going to have to go dig up my favorite Calamity Jane quotes now.

Can't wait for the second season...

Glad you folks all agree with me that Deadwood is probably the best series ever.

First episode or two...the jury was out.

But by the third, I was hooked...and hooked strong.

The portrayal of Calamity Jane is super.

Not one goddam hero in the whole series...just a bunch of people looking out for themselves...and making the most of a bad situation.

Character development like none I've ever seen before.

Any news on when it comes back???

So, you think you know who's who.

What was the name of the family allegedly massacred by Indians?

O'Reilly
Schultz
Metz
Hughes

I think the new season should start pretty soon. I know Carnivale starts this Sunday so it should follow pretty closely behind.

What Frank said about no heros, but more than that, what I love is the morphing of characters from hero to anti-hero or the other way around. Swearengen starts out as the bad guy, but by the end of the series, we love him. Seth Bullock starts out the hero and ends up, well, flawed.

I don't know the name of the family -- it wasn't O'Reilly or Shultz. I recall they were 'square-heads', so I'll go with Metz.

Hi Frank!

I'm at a loss here: I don't know Deadwood, nor do I have HBO - in fact, I don't really watch TV at all. I had picked the name "Calamity Jane" as she was a feisty woman of the Wild West. I can identify with that, although the "Wild West" I'm living in, is full of sissies nowadays Mr. Green

Do they have this series in any other channel besides
HBO?
