hi i'm a new mom. I was wondering if my boyfriend has a clef chin will my son have one ?
There are no definites -- there are dominant and recessive traits, and while I dunno which a cleft chin is, even if it is dominant it doesn't mean that your son WILL have a cleft chin, just means it would be more likely.
My husband has one and my daughter seems to. (Smaller, but she's 4. We'll see.)
Dimples are apparent at birth--what else would you expect from a poking angel finger?
I have dimples (cheek)--and so does a first cousin. Neither my father, nor my mother, nor my aunt, nor my uncle have dimples.
My son had dimples.
My second husband has a cleft chin--none of his sons do. Neither his mother, nor his father, nor his sister nor either of his brothers do.
I have dimples, and also my 4 years nephew.None of the family does, that's funny when you smile
The facial features of your boyfriend are irrelevant... but the facial features of the child's FATHER have a chance of being passed on to offspring.
