I put 5,718 miles on my car in 2004

My odometer reads 53,652 on my 1995 Lexus ES300. So in the ten years I've owned the car, I've averaged 4,471 miles per year. I installed a satillite radio in the car this month, because I broke the antanae two years ago, and we can't pick up radio signals when we're in the mountains or far from radio signals. The car is still in good shape and problem free, so I think I'll keep it for another year. Wink How about you? How many miles a year do you drive? Anything special about your car you like or dislike?

Hm, 4471 miles on average is not much cicerone,
I've driven around 12,000 miles in a years time.

Nothing special about my car, it is safe and never breaks
down - good enough for me Smile

CJane, A dependable car is a blessing. They're making cars with better quality now days, so we can look forward to keeping our cars for over 100,000 miles. I should live so long. LOL

BTW, during my working years, it was common to put on about 15,000 miles every year.

I don't want to own anything that could outlive me
cicerone Wink Usually I trade in my cars when they
get close to 50,000 miles.

I gather you're retired now - lucky you!

I don't really drive long distance - just to and from work and playing
chauffeur to my child: soccer here, birthday party there, and so on.....

I remember those days very well of driving our children to school. Yes, I've been retired since 1998.

Crowding 10,000/year on the '03 ford focus. It is noisy and underpowered. Great highway milage, city gas milage sucks.

Most of my driving is in the city, so my milage is not all that good - prolly about 15 miles/gallon. Since I don't drive all that much, it's cheaper for me to keep driving this ten year old car with low mileage than to buy another car with good mileage. I spend about $500 a year on gas.

Well, I sold my car last month, after 6 years with 140,000 miles.

Usually, I drive about 20,000 miles/year - much less than during that period, I worked all over the county on different places the same day

I have a 2001 Honda Accord, with 6 cylanders. I probably drive around 6,000 miles a year. It is very comfortable, although a bit noisy for my taste. It drives beautifully, although the gas mileage is nothing to write home about. I previously had a Toyota Camry, with 4 cylanders, which got great mileage, so I suppose I was a bit spoiled.

Oh, Phoenix, it's "cylinders," you silly goose!!!

I've got an 01 Nissan Maxima SE I bought in February, had 34K on it. Now it's got 56K, so well over 20K in a year right now. Outside sales...

Nothing crazy I like or dislike about the car, I bought it because I wanted a FWD reliable Japanese car with a V6. It's a little boring compared to the last couple of cars I've had.

Walter, I have never driven on the autoban, but I've seen some speeders zipping by while on a tour bus. I remember one incident where the traffic was stopped for an accident, and the police car rode on the 'extra' lane.

My wife drives a 1994 Honda Accord. She talks about buying another car, but won't make the committment. I stopped looking for her. She likes smaller cars, so I told her she should get a Lexus IS300.

well yeah C.I. I did but it had 148,000 miles on it and I knew it needed a new engine so what I paid for it included what costs would be needed.

Apropos driving the Autobahn: Walter, I hope you'll
coach cicerone beforehand that he's allowed to drive
the left lane only to pass slower cars, otherwise
they're up his rear end only inches apart.

When I visit Germany it takes me 3 days to adjust
to their driving which is quite offensive to say the least.

Then again, upon returning to the States, I was driving
down the freeway speeding at a 120 m/h until I realized
where I was. http://www.borge.diesal.de/oh.gif
