When Usama Bin Laden used to fight Communists in Afghanistan and killing Soviet soldiers and running military operations inside USSR and kiiling innocent Russain citizens and spreading Afghan drugs world wide, he was considered and regarded as a hero and a holy Mujahid!!!
When Usama Bin Laden is fighting Capitalists in Afghanistan and killing American soldiers and running military operations inside USA and killing innocent American citizens and still spreading Afghan drugs worldwide, he is considered and regarded as a terrorist!!!
Only names has changed while the actions remained the same, but Usama Bin Laden turned 180 degrees!!!
Can someone explain this heresy? Or may be he can give this magical balance by which things are dosed
Not so difficult to understand - the difference lies in the way hostilities started. USSR invaded with the notion of increasing their land holdings permanently and OBL fought them. We provided assistance to OBL at the time because we felt it was in our best interest to prevent the spread of the USSR. OBL's intent was defense.
This time, OBL left his borders and attacked us. We invaded with the notion of getting rid of the terrorists and leaving. OBL's intent was offense.
