The Official Rumsfeld prediction thread.

First of all, I want to point out that I hated Rumsfeld before it was cool.

Second, I have made some very bad predictions recently (lastly that stupid man of the year thing), so I am not feeling so confident in my own prescient abilities.

But, I want to hear what people here think...

How long will Rumsfeld hold on to his position in the Bush cabinet?

(I am willing to predict that it will be for "personal" reasons.)

I think that Bush will probably wait and see a bit, if and when he does anything about Rumsfeld. If Rumsfeld press gets very bad, Bush just may decide to replace him.

He's already gone...but the world doesn't know it yet.

My guess he will fall on his sword "so as not to be a distraction to the tough work ahead."

The bullshyt will flow heavy.

The world will be no better off, because it is obvious Bush intends to fill departing bad...with worse.

Having watched the talking GOP heads last Sunday morning refuse to draw their long knives, I now believe he'll make it at least until January 30, the date the Iraqi elections are scheduled.

Whether the elections are actually held on that date, or not, he will be "resigned' shortly thereafter.

Rummie was one of Nixon's minions back in the day.
Loyal to his faction, and coming from a nexus of arrogance, duplicity, extortion and deceit... he has stayed the course.
He will reap what he has sown.

I anxiously await the day that Rumsfield burns in the deepest pit of hell.

I want to be there to take pictures.

There's a story behind my vitriolic comments. Back in '37 Rumsfield knocked an ice cream bar out of my hands.

I have hated him since.

Gus- I hope that you told that story to your shrink, in no uncertain terms. It is trauma such as you had that that causes mass murderers, horse thieves, and library book scofflaws!

I think that Rumsfeld not only won't be fired, but he'll get the Medal of Freedom next year.

So Rummy gets the Medal of Freedom while awaiting a war crimes tribunal. Kinda goes with the whole BushCo enterprise.

Quote:
Though criticism of Rumsfeld from Capitol Hill increased again last week, Bush indicated no softening of his own support.

"You know, sometimes perhaps his demeanor is rough and gruff, but beneath that rough and gruff, no-nonsense demeanor is a good human being who cares deeply about the military and deeply about the grief that war causes," Bush said.

Take the poll:

If Donald Rumsfeld is doing "a fine job," what would a "bad" job look like?

a): Trees and birds enlisting with al Qaeda

b): Missile defense tests accidentally blowing up the sun

c): Elements of the periodic table resigning in protest

d): Soldiers going into battle completely naked, holding nothing but PDAs
