@Letty,
I used to listen to the Jackson Five. Actually liked many of their songs, including ABC. When Michael went solo, I lost interest.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks, edgar, for your valiant attempt. It was The Jackson 5 doing ABC.

Let's see if Peggy works, Texas.

@edgarblythe,
thanks again for keeping us on the air, edgar. Yep, Peggy Lee was a great vocalist.

Didn't know Barbara Mason nor her song "Yes I'm Ready to Come". Thanks for the introduction, Texas.

Inspired by Rockin' Robin, I found two versions of the oldie.

First, Manhattan Transfer. Sorry that the visuals don't fit the music, y'all.

Now, another version.

Hello Ms. Letty and all.

2 versions of the same song.

I was asked who sang the original for the tv show and I choose the first one.

btw Bobby S. is a reserve office with the lapd.

edgar, which version did you like the best of my two and Trying2learn's two?

Trying2learn, Although I love Perry Como, I picked your second version and thanks for the info concerning LAPD.

Having told Izzythepush, that I was sorry I didn't have a glittering Happy Birthday for him, I was reminded of this poem made into a song.

First, the poem:

Richard Cory
By Edwin Arlington Robinson

Whenever Richard Cory went down town,
We people on the pavement looked at him:
He was a gentleman from sole to crown,
Clean favored, and imperially slim.

And he was always quietly arrayed,
And he was always human when he talked;
But still he fluttered pulses when he said,
"Good-morning," and he glittered when he walked.

And he was rich—yes, richer than a king—
And admirably schooled in every grace:
In fine, we thought that he was everything
To make us wish that we were in his place.

So on we worked, and waited for the light,
And went without the meat, and cursed the bread;
And Richard Cory, one calm summer night,
Went home and put a bullet through his head.

Now, S&G do the song.

Thanks for the distinction, edgar. You sent me searching about Tabu.

Pascal-Emmanuel Sinamoyi Tabu (13 November 1937 or 1940 – 30 November 2013) better known as Tabu Ley Rochereau, was a leading African rumba singer-songwriter from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He was the leader of Orchestre Afrisa International, as well as one of Africa's most influential vocalists and prolific songwriters.

More synchronicity. Last evening on TCM the movie was The Jungle Book with Sabu.

Saying goodnight with Van the man.

No mystique; just mistic.

Junior Murvin died today aged 67. He was best known for the song Police And Thieves, which became quite popular after it was recorded by the only band that matters.

I don't know which version I prefer.

On reflection it has to be The Clash. RIP Joe Strummer. Ignore Alien Order!

Hmmm. Today is "twoday" on our radio.

First, an observation about Richard Cory. "when one is on top, there's no place to go except down.

Hurry back, edgar, and welcome back pushman. I need to listen to your two later.

I have always claimed that there are only two emotions: love and fear.

It take two to tango? Here are two versions.

First, the original.

Now, the remake. (first time I saw this movie, I became fascinated with the real Rudolph)
