Yum, Cav. I do know our listeners are feeling the need for haute cuisine. Unfortunately most of our tune-iners are meat and potato people.

LaCrosse? What's LaCrosse. Anything like shuffleboard?

Noddy, a little literary fantasy, please. A book review perhaps?

This sums up Lacrosse, despite the American bias. (I should also mention that basketball was invented by a Canadian):

"Lacrosse, considered to be America's first sport, was born of the North American Indian, christened by the French, and adapted and raised by the Canadians. Modern lacrosse has been embraced by athletes and enthusiasts of the United States and the British Commonwealth for over a century.

The sport of lacrosse is a combination of basketball, soccer and hockey. Anyone can play lacrosse--the big or the small. The game requires and rewards coordination and agility, not brawn. Quickness and speed are two highly prized qualities in lacrosse. An exhilarating sport, lacrosse is fast-paced and full of action. Long sprints up and down the field with abrupt starts and stops, precision passes and dodges are routine in men's and women's lacrosse. Lacrosse is played with a stick, the crosse, which must be mastered by the player to throw, catch and scoop the ball."

Can I be the grumpy old fart (think Andy Rooney) who asks "Why is it that when I try to get to the start of this thread, I can't. I can only start with page two. What did I miss?" or perhaps, Dan Schorr (lately of NPR) who manages to include in every commentary that "...back in the Nixon years, when I was breaking the news about Watergate..."

I could probably be good at being grumpy if I had a place to practice.

(And by the way, when I was in college I played lacrosse -badly- but it truly is the fastest game on two feet).

thanks, Cav. Yes, I understand. Then LaCrosse is very similar to soccer. Anyone can play if they are dedicated.

Don't touch that dial, stay tuned for more exciting news, music, and whatever turns you on.

Unfortunately, I must take a short break to eat.

I'm trying to decide what to wear, Ms. Station Owner. Perhaps you could take a look through my closet and find something the FCC might approve?

Lady J. We here at WA2K radio appreciate lovely listeners such as you. If you want to dedicate a song to someone, please do.

Eva, you funny thing. It seems that you're worrying about what NOT to wear. and one of our DJ's would like to dedicate a song to the evocative Eva.

Victoria Beckham - Venus Lyrics

Goddess on the mountain top
Burning like a silver flame
The summit of beauty and love
And Venus was her name

She's got it
Yeah, baby, she's got it
I'm your Venus, I'm your fire
At your desire
Well, I'm your Venus, I'm your fire
At your desire

Her weapons were her crystal eyes
Making every man a man
Black as the dark night she was
Got what no-one else had
Wa!

She's got it
Yeah, baby, she's got it
I'm your Venus, I'm your fire
At your desire
Well, I'm your Venus, I'm your fire
At your desire

Goddess on the mountain top
Burning like a silver flame
The summit of beauty and love
And Venus was her name

She's got it
Yeah, baby, she's got it
I'm your Venus, I'm your fire
At your desire
Well, I'm your Venus, I'm your fire
At your desire.

Of course, we must have an agricultural report.

Where's farmerman and Gus?

Well, John of Virginia, I missed your post completely. Of course you can be anyone you want to be, Mr. Cavalier.

Please give us one of Andy's tongue in cheek reviews. As for the surrogate manager of WA2K radio.

All news bad or good news,
Local state and nation wide,(international as well)
Here on WA2K radio,
Now we present with pride:

I'm very thrilled - most excited - to be a member of the WA2K radio staff and will be delighted to post a picture daily. And, if because of unforeseen circumstances, I am not able to meet the deadline for Born Today, I hereby nominate and request that Bree or Mac serve as my substitute.

Letty just appointed me the radio physician - on call, and asked me to post my first med link. http://www.tamiflu.com/consumer_zip.asp
A writer-friend of mine who lives in Georgia sends me oodles of medical info, so I'll just pass them along when I receive them. Wink Keep healthy, all of you! That's not negotiable.

I want to be the pompous, whiny, sarcastic conservative commentator.

No, really. I could be good at it. And all radio stations have one now and will have to have one in the near future.

First, I would deride the liberal elite snobs for their neverending campaign to force us all to be like them. Then I would shuffle some papers and take a phone call or two.

Please, I promise I will be a ranting raving red-in-the-face gasbag.

I want to do a show. A show that weaves music and word. Connects the loose threads and forced genres into one beautiful expeirence. Salsa, swing, symphany, song and poetry. I don't want to be bothered by catagories or corporations. I just want to groove.
Please and thankyou.

FIELDS OF GOLD
sung by the late great Eva Cassidy.

You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Upon the fields of barley
You'll forget the sun in his jealous sky
As we walk in fields of gold
So she took her love
For to gaze awhile
Upon the fields of barley
In his arms she fell as her hair came down
Among the fields of gold
Will you stay with me, will you be my love
Among the fields of barley
We'll forget the sun in his jealous sky
As we lie in fields of gold
See the west wind move like a lover so
Upon the fields of barley
Feel her body rise when you kiss her mouth
Among the fields of gold
I never made promises lightly
And there have been some that I've broken
But I swear in the days still left
We'll walk in fields of gold
We'll walk in fields of gold
Many years have passed since those summer days
Among the fields of barley
See the children run as the sun goes down
Among the fields of gold
You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Upon the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold

I'm definitely tuning into Ceili's program. Smile

Will pass on Joe's. I've heard it all before. Wink

Hmmm...if not the on-site FCC censor, then what shall I be? <thinking, thinking>
