@Barry The Mod,
Hey, Brit. Francis' song is still there.

http://able2know.org/topic/40045-2827

Wow! loved Claus Spechtl's trio. That one is new to me as well. Hmmm, Sticks and Stones and bones.Smile

Thanks for the pictures of John, buddy. Whatever Gets You Through the Night was a new one to me. Love Sir Elton and John doing that one.

A lot of folks think that Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds was an allusion to LSD. It wasn't.

My favorite is John's Imagine. Thanks for the tributes, Brit.

Hey, you've gone, but your melodies linger on.

A couple of songs for the early morning, y'all. First the original version of that fabulous Japanese guy.

Sure do miss satt fs. (sp)

Now, a birthday boy.

Jackson Browne and These Days.

Still dark here. My sprinkler system awakened me.

Pour me laisser glisser fragile

M'a forcé à venir ici

@Tai Chi,
Tai Chi, Welcome back. I loved that song. Do you suppose the world will never run out of good people? You're right, Canada, that is an upbeat song and I think we all need that in today's world.

Today is Mr. Monk's birthday, and I really appreciate and understand the tribute.

Hope our Brit's pond gets clearer. The Thames can get a bit foggy. Smile

@Letty,
Good morning. I appreciate Jackson Browne and Sukyaki and all the good songs by everyone else. Too much to individually comment on just now.
I enjoyed the few episodes of Monk I saw, but the local free channels only let us see three or four episodes in the original first season.

Here is a bit of China Nights, the film.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, That trailer was awesome. It appeared to have a happy ending. Here's one to match.

I know what you mean about "too many". I often neglect to comment, because I miss the contributions the first time around.

Glad you enjoyed Jackson and the Japanese guy. Smile

That's one of Glenn's best, letty.
I heard this song by Tom Jones this morning, but selected Shirley's version for the radio.

@edgarblythe,
I love that one by Dame Shirley, edgar. She did so many of the James Bond themes. "Til" is fantastic.

A couple of songs for the afternoon, y'all.

First, a new discovery for me. The Arctic Monkeys. What a name for a group. Love it. Here's some info.

Arctic Monkeys are an English alternative rock band Formed in 2002 in High Green, a suburb of Sheffield. They currently consists of Alex Turner (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Jamie Cook (lead guitar), Nick O'Malley (bass guitar, backing vocals), Matt Helders (drums, backing vocals) and John Ashton as a touring member (keyboard, guitar, backing vocals). Former members include Andy Nicholson (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Glyn Jones (lead vocals, guitar).

and since it is Scott Bakula's birthday, a tribute. Had no idea the man could sing.

@Letty,
I remember Baby I'm Yours from the 1960s. They did a good job with it.
Didn't know Scott sang either. Not bad.
One more by Steely Dan

@edgarblythe,
Once again, edgar, thanks for the comments.

Wow! Steely Dan's Reeling in the Years and Josie were great. You sent me searching again, and I found out that David Palmer left the group and wrote the following lyrics for Carole King's Jazzman.

Love to learn here.

I didn't know Jazzman, but I am not surprised he wrote the words.

Well, little richard once did a few "older folks" songs, hoping to get them into listening to rock n roll. Here is one of them

@edgarblythe,
Love Little Richard, edgar, especially Long Tall Sally. We'll dedicate Baby Face to Rockhead's baby grapes and Tai Chi's avatar. Smile

Another tribute, folks. John Entwhistle formerly of The Who whose birthday is today.

@Barry The Mod,
My lord, Brit, I had forgotten that song. Was that Ella singing the lead? Stone Cold Dead in the Market was great.
