Ah, that sweet choir. Thanks, Izzie. They are precious, and they were good, too.
edgar, Weird Al was hilarious. Love those folks who don't hold anything sacred. They make us laugh at ourselves. Homer and Jethro were great, as is this guy. He deserves a tribute.
And I dearly love Spike and his zany bunch of nuts.

Good morning, WA2K folks.
Mr. Wizard, I did not like Cast Away. To me it was boring, frankly. Didn't see Vanilla Sky, but I like the song. Will have to check out Bonfire of the Vanities. Thanks for the referral, buddy. I already commented on boomer's thread. The Pledge with Jack Nicholson elicited a knee jerk reaction from me so much so, that I had to contain myself from throwing something at the TV.
I guess Denzel's movie was supposed to be a time warp.
edgar, Dione and Isaac. Great song. Thanks, buddy
Couple of songs this morning, y'all. First it's Billy Joel's birthday so we'll do one by him.
I liked Castaway enough that I have a Wilson ball, complete with the hand-shaped face, on a shelf by my computer. I found the ending disappointing, but only because I had anticipated a pat and happy resolution. Vanilla Sky, I watched but did not like. Oh, and Happy Bday to Billy Joel.
Oh, I got the time shift in "Deja Vu" -- it was just poorly handled. I don't believe I could sit through "Cast Away" again but the Beatles "Vanilla Sky" is leages ahead of the misbegotten movie. No, don't check out "Bonfire of the Vanities," unless you think there's a big conflagration of bedroom furniture and you're a firebug.

edgar, Loved "In the Middle of an Island". Who did that one originally?
Hey, Mr. Wizard. Not to worry, I shan't check it out; however, a bonfire on the beach is fun. Ever have a marshmellow roast?
Never heard this man, but today is his birthday, so let's hear one by him.
Wow! They were great, edgar. Love a trio that has soul and good entonation. Thanks, buddy.
Today is Howard Carter's birthday. When I was eleven years old, I read "Lost Cities and Vanished Civilizations" five times. I did all my heavy reading when I was just a kid; odd, no?
Yes, the Science Channel, Discovery, History and National Geographic have been flooding cable and satellite with the King Tut, Howard Carter documentaries during the past month and the Sci-Fi Channel did a TV movie, I think involving the curse, but I'd have to look it up.
But in honor of Howard Carter, may he roll over in his grave (or should I say sarcophagus, heeerree's Steve!

BTW, the Howard Carter clip is from the one hour documentary on the discovery of King Tut from the BBC called: Egypt: Rediscovering a Lost World.
King Tut's tomb was actually thrown together with just average wall painting and much smaller size. He had succeeded Akhenaten and perpetuated the cult of Aton, the Sun God, although all the gods were secretly still worshipped. In the movie "The Egyptian," Hollwood again plays games with history and Horemheb is made Pharaoh (actually this happened about twenty years after Tut's death with Aya immediately taking over rule as he actually had during Tut's reign along with Horemheb).
Mr. Wizard, Loved that Steve Martin dance and thanks for the additional info on the boy king. I cannot find it, but I watched a movie one evening with a Chinese guy who was the mummy.
Here are The Bangles and I think their song is great with humor thrown in.
