All that King Tut and Walking Like Egyptians. Good stuff.
In the Alley Oop comic strip, back in the 1940s or so, the people over there built the Sphinx after Oop's image. (He got around by time machine). It's hard to spot the resemblance, what with the nose having come off.
I'm killing time, hoping my boy gets here pretty soon.

@Letty,
I have that record, letty. They once considered making a movie about Oop, back when Robin Williams and Shelly Duval played Popeye and Olive Oyl. I think the reception to that film killed the enthusiasm for it.

While we are doing funny stuff, here is one by Larry Verne.

edgar, I remember that one. Funny, Texas. In Virginia, they used to have Custard Stands.

http://www.bookofjoe.com/images/111111aaa.jpg

They were often called Custard's Last Stand.

Hey, Brit. Welcome back. That was a fantastic song from Westwind. Just discovered they were Irish. Thanks, buddy. Need to listen to that one again.

Anyone recall this great song?

@Lightwizard,
Thanks, Mr. Wizard, but I don't think that is the one that I saw.

My Mummy done told me when I was in Chinese pigtails? Hilarious.

Love Blues in the Night, incidentally. Harold Arlen with lyrics by Johnny Mercer. Wow.

Just found out that the man, Clarence Carter who sang Patches ,is blind.

That was an entertaining telling of going to that Mummy film. I personally have never watched any Mummy films, not even the old black and whites. They just don't grab my attention.

edgar, I haven't heard your song, Patches, but it's another of those Down in the Boondocks type thing.

All the mummy movies have been overdone, methinks; however, the old black and whites on TCM are truly the best, and perhaps that was because they were the first.

My word, folks, they have even perpetuated the idea of a mummy being on board the Titanic and the curse caused the ship to sink.

Here's a funny song, y'all.

I have to go back to Sammy Davis jr frequently, because it's hard to believe how talented he was.

@edgarblythe,
Great history of tap dancing, edgar. Sammy was good at a lot of things.Didn't know anyone but him, however.

Well, y'all, it's time for me to say goodnight, and since edgar turned on the tap with the hoofers,I think my song for the evening will be this one. So long ago I sang the first one from a female point of view, and his last one is wonderful "music of the night".
