And they will have Kofi after dinner....
all the rice is gone too...looks like Gary Hart ate every bit......
She's bush's bobble-head, a secretary of state needs to be independent minded.
A secretary of state needs to be internationally respected, too.
... though I heard (from Ariel Sharon, no less) that Rice has nice legs
You guys want a seriously bad choice of a secretary of state to laugh and get your yuks at? Try this:

During the Rambouillet talks on Kosovo in France in 1999, Albright was said to have been mistaken for a cleaning lady by one of the Albanian delegates. She is said to have burst out angrily using very undiplomatic language. Critics say that since that incident, she has upscaled her wardrobe, added more color to it and now always wears oversized gold brooches.
Scale of one to ten for being qualified to be secretary of state, I'd rate Condi Rice a 9.5 and dogface there about a three at best.
I have always treasured this quote from Boutros Boutros-Ghali:
"She seemed to have little interest in the difficult diplomatic work of persuading her foreign counterparts to go along with the positions of her government, preferring to lecture or speak in declarative sentences, or simply to read verbatim from her briefing books. She seemed to assume that her mere assertion of a US policy should be sufficent to achieve the support of other nations." (From his 1999 autobiography)
I guess it didn't start with Bush did it?
I found Albright's tv appearances in support of Kerry to be very unhelpful. "Declarative sentences" actually overstates her performances.

Nice to see you keeping up the high quality of your posts, G-snake.

Although Gunga's post didn't have much substance, what MaryM (and by extension Bourtros Boutros-Ghali) wrote is somewhat revealing. Albright was very abrasive and unpersuasive when she started her career as Secretary of State. I think Clinton filed down some of her rough edges over time, but she was never a smooth operator.
