Hi lezzles. I feel remiss in not having replied to your post sooner and I apologise for that. Sorry to read you have been in the wars following your flu and pneumonia injections. I had mine a couple of months ago, no adverse reactions but my arm was pretty sore from that pneumonia needle, luckily they only come once every 5 years. Smile

Hope you are feeling much better now and are at least able to do your favourite crosswords. Know how you feel for not seeing your name coming out of the winners hat, you're no orphan there my friend. I hate to think how far in the 'red' I am, after purchasing all those magazines year after year with so very little in return. You certainly become addicted, to the point, that I recently subscribed to the lot from Lovatts. Smile

Just keep plugging away on the trivia thread and having a bit of fun, pleased it is all light hearted and not to serious. Have looked at other threads in the forum recently which was a bit of an eyeopener for me. Somehow I don't think I'll venture to far out of the present one, trivia suits a hillbilly like me just fine. Keep your chin up my friend, look forward meeting you on the threads soon.

Hi Dutchy, yes they can take it all very seriously sometimes, can't they?

Don't want to get involved in political arguments (knew too many of the sods personally and it turned me off the subject for life!), so I'll stick to word games, I think!

Hi Dutch! It must be time to update this thread - it has fallen back to page 2 again. Chilly enough for you this morning? I imagine the black stump is wearing a white coat at present!

Hi Lezzles nice to see you. Not to bad this morning 8 degrees as against 3 yesterday. Not a white coat my friend but two white jumpers. Smile
Have a stack of Lovatts and others to complete and getting ready for a few weeks away fishing with my son, so time is precious.
Trust you are your old self again.

Slowly getting there. We were expecting 2 degrees last night - haven't heard what we actually reached but that would have to be close.

Do you fish - from rocks - from beach - from tinny - from launch - rivers or offshore? Whatever, keep yourself well rugged up and dry.

Although, only four more weeks till spring!

I travel to Port Lincoln where my son lives, he is in the fishing industry, and we usually fish around the beautiful bays or open sea. For me it is quality time as he is my only child, because of the distance involved I do not get to see him and his family to often. King George Whiting , Snapper and Garfish we usually go for, son makes sure my large Esky is full of fillets before I go home! Smile

Sounds wonderful! I love all seafood - but only if it is really fresh. I think you can pick something that has been frozen every time. I have to admit that my very favourite of all is the lowly mullet.

Hope you have a wonderful time!

Now where is Port Lincoln? I know Dutchy is in the southern province - is it close? It seems to me nothing is truly close out there. We drove from Melbourne to Adelaide and it took forever, but it was the first time I'd seen stars right down to the ground, breathtaking! I have to wait till all my sons have good, paying jobs and then I can be free to come back to the land of the mullet and the black stump!

Hi Clary! Yes, sadly, everything is so far from everything else out here! I don't know if you have an atlas handy, but Port Lincoln, although close as the crow flies from Adelaide is a bit of a hike to get to. I have never been there myself, but from what I have heard, it is quite a spot.

One day, when I get rich, I'll send you a ticket and we'll pick up one or two others on the way and off we'll go to visit Dutchy. Is it a deal?

YAY! Keep buying those Lotto tickets, Lez!

I should be able to afford it in about a year's time - so early spring of 2007, let's make a deal (your autumn?)

This is looking at Port Lincoln from Winters Hill. Port Lincoln is about 700km from Adelaide, by caravan it takes me about 8 hours, by plane it is only 40 minutes because you fly over water.

Here you can find the largest fishing fleet in Australia which catches all varieties of fish. The greatest income though is from the Southern Bluefin Tuna fish farms, which exports $400 million each year, mainly to Japan.

Port Lincoln is attractively located with magnificient coastal scenery with large areas declared National Parks. Presently a 5 star Hotel is being built but there is plenty of other first class accommodation available. Because of the great wealth created by the Tuna farms, the homes one can find here, rival those of the best living quarters in Australia.

Hopes this whets your appetite Lezzles and Clary.

Indeed it does, Dutchy! Sounds great! How do you think the town will look after having been painted red?

Good morning lezzles. I don't think there is much you girls can add to make the town see red, believe you me they've seen everything. However we can give it a try and see how we go, no harm in trying is there Smile

We'll give them something to remember I'm sure!

Dutch, where's our Butterfly? Has she gone on hols? It's very quiet without her and you seem to be doing double duty on the puzzle questions.

Looking forward to my trip to Port Lincoln this week, pity you and Clary can't make it by Saturday. Smile
Incidently where is Clary haven't spotted her for a few days? As far as Butterfly is concerned, she'll be fluttering in before long, I'm sure of that. Just talking about her on the threads brings her out, has happened before.

Hope to see her back here soon. Miss her contributions.

Maybe Clary has gone swanning off to Spain again - or Delhi, or Morocco, or some other exotic clime!

And as for Port Lincoln - grill something nice with just a little lemon juice, for me!!
