Hi all...
This friend of mine is 5 mos. pregnant (just found out it's a girl!) and she just came to me and asked if I could find out what the meaning was for the name she so eagerly wants for her baby girl: MONELLE.
I've googled it, and for the life of me I can't find the meaning. I've found the name on a couple of web sites, but there was no meaning to it. Just the name. It did give me the hint that it is a french/Australian name.
Could it be that Monelle comes from the name Mona, which means reserved, solitary, and unemotional?
Can anybody help me? Thanks!
I don't know the meaning, but you could cut it in half and see what 'mon elle' means in French. Might be something...
Well, "mon" means my in French, and "elle" means her or she.
Good point... It does make sense too.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Well, except "mon" goes with the masculine, ("ma" goes with the feminine) so it wouldn't actually be French.
Not all names have meanings! ;-) Could well be a derivation of Mona.
(Now I forget how that works, ma + a word that starts with a vowel. Maybe it is "mon" then.)
Anyway, I looked in my old baby name book for you, "Beyond Jennifer & Jason, Madison & Montana", and they don't have it. :-(
Thanks for going that extra mile Sozobe!!
