I suppose I use artnet.com and artcyclopedia.com the most.

OK, I give up. I've been getting tons of info from [email protected] and haven't been interested in any shows, save that of one by a friend (and truth be told, not that one for the art).
Too much aggravating bletch for me.

Yes, it does take up a lot of time to look at them. I just look to see if there are good images to enjoy. I'm not likely to go to California just to see an art show.

Well, it's well possible I might want to, but not from that news source so far.

@ossobuco,
I have trouble tagging this thread in that I'd like to somehow distinguish what I think of as brick and mortar art or photo galleries, and galleries of lots of artists/photographers/designers online. Brick and mortar is such a clumsy phrase..

@ossobuco,
I assume membership is for gallery owners only? $200 a year is a bit steep for individual browsers (even professional browsers at that and I'm not one of those for certain).

I at least will bookmark the following feeds page:

@tsarstepan,
Tsar, I don't remember - this thread started in 2004..

I'll have to reread, and then look for some more sites, as I'm still interested in having a few to look at. But, I'm off to sleep, or at least rest until the fireworks noise stops.

@ossobuco,
Goodnight dear Ossobuco. Let them silence their confounded blasting and a popping and let you sleep.

Sleep well.

@tsarstepan,
Awake now..

Tsar, I tried the second link I gave, and I didn't see anything about money. The first link might have been what you have to pay if you are a gallery.

Try this one -
http://artupdate.com/

Adds, the site JLNobody mentioned is now http://www.artdaily.org
I think I'll try it for a while.

http://www.designtaxi.com/ still seems to work too...

artscenecal.com has evolved somehow to Visual Art Source http://www.visualartsource.com

@ossobuco,
From earlier in the thread:

This still works - http://www.absolutearts.com/

Farmer, I should have mentioned a nod re ASKart.com - I don't want to pay myself, but I gather it's a good resource.

Looks like one has to pay for http://www.artnews.com/home/ (I'm not positive).

http://www.guardian.co.uk/culture/culture+tone/news - this still works - as do a lot of newspaper art news sections (I read the Guardian, NYTimes, LA Times myself)

http://www.artknowledgenews.com/ This works. As does this - http://www.theartnewspaper.com/index.asp

and this - http://www.artcyclopedia.com/

@ossobuco,
I'd like to see a site with emphasis on latin american art, and... here's a big category, photography galleries as a group.

@ossobuco,
Osso, my reference was to a different site, aldaily (not artdaily). But I'm glad to discover the latter. Thanks. After five days without my Mac it is great to come to this discovery.

@JLNobody,
JL, I must have misread.
Aldaily - http://www.aldaily.com/

I know a lot of people like that site but somehow I've never gotten into it (for no good reason, as it happens).
