@Alan McDougall,
Because the Sun is a selfish bastard, that's why.

Just like that horrible human being who refused to give me $500 when I approached him for spare money today. I told him I was hungry, and needed a bottle of wine, and a pack of cigarettes, and some money to gamble with, but nooooooooooooo. I know he had it, too, because I went upside his sorry head with my 40 when he tried to walk away, then took his wallet. What a miser! A true misanthrope, with no regard whatsoever for his fellow man.

Perhaps the sun is always out and the stars are merely pinholes in the curtain of night.

@Alan McDougall,
Or you can look at it this way:
Quote:
It must always be night, otherwise they wouldn't need the lights.

The sun cannot come out "at night", or am I being dull here? The moon can come out during the day, if that makes it any better.

@centrox,
Me and a homey have figured out a way to fly to the sun without getting burnt up, but we aint tellin NASA until they cough up some long green.

It's a brilliant plan, worth every nickel. Ya just fly at night!

@centrox,
If we were conveniently tidal locked , then Mr McDougall wouldnt have to worry about all this. He could claim ow his guy in the blessed this side of earth with an eternal day.

Actually, the sun does come out at night; it's just that the damn Earth gets in the way. You're standing in the shadow. Get out of the shadow, and there it is, daylight .

Layman, Loosen up a bit you come over as a very angry man, go outside find a rose and smell it

I am frankly astonished at the number of responses I got to this nonsensical question.

I always turn it off when I go to sleep. If you wish to have me leave it on, I suggest a GoFundMe campaign.

As Fresco would explain the problem is people believing and agreeing the term "night" implies no sunshine. It's a language problem. The consensus is that people ought to sleep in the darkness and make babies! Who knows what might happen if they ever change their mind.
