Incorrectomundo, my cockney friend! Au contraire - after reading Walter's naive little piece it became a matter of even greater urgency that I get to the toilet in time to take a dump before an accident should occur...

The trouble with Germans nowadays is that they all feel sheepishly obliged to espouse far leftwing causes as a demonstration of having divorced themselves from having any nazi sympathies.

If a present-day German should happen to utter one stray word that could be interpreted as betraying political sympathies which rest somewhere to the right of Marxist-Leninist political theory - they can soon expect to become social pariahs and outcasts in their own community.

Over the years I've probably had more political conversations with Germans than Walter has had sauerkraut sandwiches - and it has always amazed me how successfully they have all been brainwashed into championing leftwing causes.

And what today is the most ubiquitous and most enduringly effective instrument for political indoctrination might I ask, Damen und Herrren... ?

Correct! For at least the past 40-years the public schools system of Western nations have been the main intrument for shaping the political attitudes and belief system of the younger generation.

Jesus Christ, it was a joke, Walter...

If you're on medication either double the prescription or give it up altogether.

Herberts you are very rude and offensive, but I think you know that anyway. But Walter is far too much of a gentleman to point this out.

Excellent Sun headline btw, had us laughing for weeks here.

Jesus. What do you people do for a laugh? Pull wings off butterflies... ? Whatever happened to your funny-bone... ? It must be all those gray skies across the UK and Europe that's keeping you people so depressed and morbid.

Hmm yeah ... hey, if there's nakkidnerds.com, why not page three liberals? "SHE'S GOT A BLEEDING HEART ... BUT IT'S COVERED BY SOME MAGNIFICENT JUGS!" ... "SHE HUGS TREES ... IN THE BUFF!" ... "SHE AGITATES AGAINST THE OFFICIAL SECRETS ACT ... AND NOW, SHE REVEALS SOME OF HER OWN!"

Angst rules. In a recent opinion poll of Maurice de Hond, the question was asked, "Do you think Dutch society has lost its identity?" A whopping 61% said yes, 36% said no.

Most adamant were, interestingly, both those on the far right (supporters of Geert Wilders, 91%, List Fortuyn voters, 75%) and those of the far left Socialist Party (73%). Almost two-thirds of the voters of the Christian-Democrats and right-wing liberal VVD and little over half of Labour voters agreed as well; only the voters of the left-liberal Democrats and the Green Left were sceptic.

Also 61%, exactly, agreed with the submission that the Dutch society has reached a crisis of trust/confidence. Again, the Socialists and the supporters of Geert Wilders are most adamant; only among voters of the government Christian-Democrats and rightwing liberals was opinion merely equally divided.

Loyalty to traditional Dutch values rules. The majority are tired of seeing their Dutch identity being eroded and flushed down the toilet through decades of immigrant multiculturalism and the socialist ideological wank which is known as 'cultural diversity' - which is nothing less than code for immigrant colonialism at the expense of Dutch cultural sovereignty in their own homeland.

'Far right'... what utterly silly nonsense. Stop peddling this mischievous garbage. Geert Wilders represents nothing further to the right than that of a host people who simply want to preserve their Dutch homeland against the cultural and religious incursions of Third World Islamic immigrants. There's nothing 'right wing' about that. It used to be called 'patriotism' before you liberals turned that into a dirty word.

Welcome Dutch Girl!! I see you come from Utrecht. In another life I used to go for long bicycle rides radiating out from a small village where I was staying called Bilthoven, near Utrecht.

Very Happy

So the question begs: Where are these numbers represented in the parliament? Why are politicians not responding to the majority opinion of their electorate? Why are Western politicians everywhere only pandering to minority views and the lefties who dominate the EU and the UN... ?

It's the same here in Australia... the conservative party is economic-right... social policies-left.

The Dutch just never learn, do they? Their lip-biting guilt-ridden angst caused them to mount a campaign to solicit the Muslim community to come join the army... and now they've been forced to employ their secret services to flush the radicals out from amongst them... red faces all round.

You play with fire - you get burnt.

Fair enough question, though not really an issue in Holland. Not just is the List Pim Fortuyn still represented in parliament (in however dilettantistic fashion) with 8 seats, there's also Integration and Immigration Minister "Iron" Rita Verdonk of the VVD. She's ever sharpening her profile as Fortuyn's rightful heir, and is now running to become the VVD's next party leader (standing a very good chance to win).
