Here's my thinking: Kerry is easily swayed by polls of popular opinion. So, although he will whine and complain about it, he will sign conservative legislation in the grand tradition of Bill Clinton (Welfare Reform, anyone?), which would be good for the country. Off year congressional elections typically swing away from the president's party so there's a good chance of heavily Republican congress in 2 years. Of course, with all the waffling Kerry does, it may be nearly impossible to get him to sign his name to any legislation at all, which at least prevents our less than wonderful government from doing more harm. In addition, 8 years of Kerry would virtually ensure Hilary would never become president, which would be very good, IMO. So, if you're a Replican, you really can't lose, no matter who is elected. Happy voting!
Great strategy...now why didn't I think of that?
Yes, if you're a true conservative, a do-nothing President is much better than an activist like Bush running up big deficits, telling the local schools how to teach kids, and intruding the gov't into people's lives...
Right, and I still marvel at how the Repubs got Clinton to reform welfare without even trying...and how quickly they forgot that a Dem did it.

Schools teaching kids? Please the schools are doing horrible and you know it. At least Bush was willing to try and do something with a broken system instead of just throwing money at it. After all isn't the dem idea to just throw more money at an issue and it will fix itself?
I don't know about you, but I haven't had my life intruded upon. Do you have any instances of Americans having their lives intruded upon, if so then please share?
If you really are from Idaho the chances are good you own a gun. Voting for Kerry is a sure vote for more gun control laws, and possible confiscation. Don't be an idiot and vote for Kerry or any other candidate that supports further gun control or even renewal of the AWB.

Actually, Clinton vetoed it twice before Dick Morris grabbed up Bill's nuts, gave a squeeze and told him he'd lose if he didn't sign the friggin thing.
Morris should have talked the language of votes to begin with...wouldn't have taken the third time to just sign.
That's an interesting outlook, Idaho. You might even be right, but I prefer someone who knows what he believes in without reading the latest poll.
Cjhsa's point is more persuasive. Rights are like wilderness areas. No matter how often you successfully defend them, they always remain on the table. Lose them once, and they are probably gone forever.
Just a little pre-election humor
Couldn't actually vote for Kerry - lightning would probably strike me dead. Just an attempt to lighten the mood. Hopefully I'll be smiling by this time tomorrow.
