Edit [Moderator]: Moved from Film to Politics.
Should we look back into the past and consider the people deserving of awards due to the democratic bias displayed recently and in the past by hollywood and the such? Are the talented ""darkened"" and non recognized by political choice and prejudice or is talent still judged by raw ability, or, who likes who? Hollywood is out of control! Are the common Joes just being ripped?

I can't figure out what you said...could you elaborate?
A change in national politics. The liberals making fools of all who don't fit their mold. By intimidation and "ripping their signs from lawns when they are running for office!"
An example... Paul simon getting recognized by hollywood for best singer but Bridge over troubled waters by Art Garfunkel being the most sung song of theirs in karaoke...
OK...when was Paul given this award and what was it? For a song on a soundtrack? Was it an Oscar award?
It was a best singer award for a year.
maybe even longer a decade.
I can't remember exactly. I think Paul was a great singer but I don't think he was so much greater than Garfunkel, I am a singer myself and I know this... Simon sung clear but Art did not have a lisp or a vocal deformity... I find this motivated by politics. This was granted when Paul made the Africa album about "diamonds" all crap and politics.
Maybe the fact that Paul's had a brilliant career after they split up and Art's just been putzin around has something to do with it....maybe
I will grant you that, but, I still smell politics.
