LONDON (AP) — Britain’s Parliament was locked down Wednesday after an attacker stabbed an officer and was then shot by police, and witnesses said a vehicle struck several people on the nearby Westminster Bridge. London police said they were treating the attack as a “terrorist incident until we know otherwise.”.

Hey -- I'm thinking about all you friends in the UK

@centrox,
Four are dead. It seems to have been just one attacker.

Has it been established that the stabbing incident and the car incident are related?

@Blickers,
According to the police's press conference, yes. (That's where they said, it most probably was just one attacker.)

@Walter Hinteler,
Ive been following it most of the morning, but took some time off around noon here to read the good old hamburger thread to cheer myself up. Sympathy to all, near by or not, but especially those nearby.

@centrox,
Agreed. And just imagine how bad it would have been if idiots like that could get their hands on guns.

What the UK doesn't need is people like you giving them a bad name by polluting threads like this with your childish personal attacks.

Thank you to all the wonderful Americans with their sincere messages of sympathy, especially Linkat for starting this thread.

Having said that, Oralloy has repeatedly called the British people serfs. There is not one British person on A2K who does not feel contempt for him. We do not want fake sympathy from an individual such as that.

Similarly, Donald Trump Jr has shown he's every bit as loathsome as his father by trying to make political capital out of this tragedy.

Quote:
President Donald Trump's son has criticised London's mayor, shortly after a terror attack on the UK capital that killed four people.

Donald Trump Jr tweeted an article written last year, in which Sadiq Khan said terror vigilance had become "part and parcel" of life in a global city.

"You have to be kidding me?!" said Mr Trump, immediately sparking accusations that he was exploiting the tragedy and misrepresenting the mayor's point.

Mr Trump's tweet incensed many British people on Twitter, including MP Wes Streeting, who called him a "disgrace" for exploiting the tragedy.

Others accused him of implying that Mr Khan's comments were made after the attack.

Just now (my time 08:51) came over the Internet that seven people have been arrested in connection with this attack.

This attack is another tragedy and nothing - absolutely nothing - someone should use for his/hers own purpose.
Trump family should learn how to behave.

@Walter Hinteler,
Thanks, we're not. We'll go back to work just like we did after 7/7. London has faced a lot worse than this.

@Walter Hinteler,
7/7 was a lot bigger I remember warning lights on the M3 advising people to stay out of London, this time it's just Westminster. Having said that, back to work the next day, Westminster will be sitting today.

Let's see.... The attacker mowed down unarmed person after unarmed person, and no one stopped him.

Then the attacker repeatedly stabbed an unarmed person, and no one stopped him.

Then the attacker finally ran into someone who was armed with a gun, and his attack was instantly stopped.

If the first person he had confronted had been carrying a gun, his attack would have ended much much quicker.

Free people have the right to have guns.

Free people carrying guns would have shot the attacker before he had done any harm.

Perhaps that is why the terrorists chose to attack people who were not free to defend themselves.
