I used to have a thing for Fran Tarkenton until Bradshaw came around...It was what got me interested in Football in the first place...My very first game i watched with interest was K.C. VS Minn in the superbowl...I've lived in KC so they remain the team close to my heart...but I still find myself rooting for Minnesota(sorry OBill) and Pittsburgh..and since KC looks pretty shaking this year, I will have to stay with the Vikings...But Football is the only sport IMHO and wish more girls watched it ..got my roommate into it..but still have to explain all the rules which makes it a little less fun..there are two teams that i despise and root for their loses every week ...THE COWBOYS and THE RAIDERS...but i digress..carry on..

Super Bowl X: Lynn Swann's signature grab in his MVP performance comes late in the second quarter with the ball on the Dallas 10-yard line. Swann goes deep, covered like glue by Cowboys' corner Mark Washington. Terry Bradshaw throws it up; and Swann leaps higher than seems possible, over Washington, and, without taking his eyes off the ball, begins to reel it in. He bobbles it, but holds on for a 53-yard gain, the most spectacular, acrobatic catch in Super Bowl history.

Bradsaw without the Swan????
Standing in line behind Brett Favre, that's where! Brett makes all of his receivers look better than they are. And meanwhile, without a shiny great like those guys had, he still has the fourth best winning percentage of anyone who's ever played the game... over a 13 year career without a single losing season. ShockedIdea Just imagine what his numbers would be like if he had Rice or the Swann/Stallworth tandem to throw to! Idea

Toughness, it's no contest at all. There are only 7 players (not quarterbacks) in the history of the NFL who have started more consecutive games. No quarterback even comes close.

As the leagues only 3 time MVP (back to back to back no less), he is rapidly closing in on the few records he doesn't already hold. His current streak of touchdowns thrown in consecutive games(32) is second only to Johnny Unitas... and only Dan Marino has thrown more in his career. Idea

Put O'Bill in a room with cjhs and have 'em debate "What's More Lethal, Favre Or A Double Barreled Shotgun?" Enough gas to heat the Midwest for thirty years.

I am indeed, Kicky, but that don't change the facts.

Panz, Brady is a promising kid, but he's got a ways to go before we include him in "all time" discussions. He may well get there though.

Hmmmm....let's count Super Bowl Rings

0- Manning and Favre
2- Brady

On the other hand rings don't mean squat

Montana has four. Young got only one. The two top QB's based on rating that ever played.

I take that back. Young got more than one, he just didn't play.

Payton Manning is an above average kid, but no superstar. Check out his bio here.

Take notice of who the author uses as a benchmark to judge him by. :wink:Laughing

(Your ring count was off too, Panz. Brett does have one... and that's more of a team accomplishment anyway. Barry Sanders had none. Idea)

Here's an offbeat photo. Steve Young and his beautiful wife and child in a definite non-football moment.
