...I'm still pretty pleased with my latest listing in the Toronto Life Entertaining Guide, just released. There's a photo of me and everything, (50 lbs. heavier unfortunately, but a full half page of free advertising):
Entertaining Guide / Caterers
Cinnabar Culinary Delights
Culinary Delights Having eschewed the traditional restaurant route, Chef Paul Mesbur?-who trained with superchefs Michael Stadtländer and Jamie Kennedy?-shines most brightly when customizing a fine-dining experience in his clients' homes. Dinner might begin on a delicate note with asparagus consommé and enoki mushrooms before moving on to tender grilled octopus with an assertive salsa of spicy kiwi and papaya. Richly dense oxtail terrine follows a summer salad studded with brandied dried apricots and cranberries. Sesame-crusted beef tenderloin benefits from a Thai marinade that thrills with its assertive salty-sweetness, and a mango mousse with pine nut and mint chiffonade provides a subtly pleasing finale. Savvy oenophiles count on a certified sommelier to match wines with Mesbur's custom- designed, plated dinners that stretch anywhere from three to 10 courses.
Wait, did you write this? There are some great descriptions in there. "Assertive salsa"!
Congratulations on the great publicity, cav.
Heh heh, no, I didn't write it mac. It was partly copy and pasted from last years review by a few apprentices working for the magazine, with new input from me via telephone. Still, I think it reads well. The photo was from two years ago, lol.
Hey - that was going to be my entry in what made me smile!
Aww, Ima blushin' ehBeth...
Now we know your real name, we can stalk you.
Get outta my way, heeven. I've already got my binoculars out!
It was great to find you in there, cav - I was telling people about my friend, the fabulous caterer - "have you seen the new Toronto Life Entertainment Guide? check out Cinnabar. Paul is just faaaaaaaabulous!"

'Tis okay, I'm getting used to it.
Cav !! Mate this is great news !!!
Nahh, you should not have been an editor. You probably would have screwed up that fine bit of unbiased reporting by being too friggin' modest. Congratulations on an undoubtedly well-deserved accolade!
couldn't happen to a nicer guy :-) though i won't stalk you for your tender octopus...marinated beef tenderloin...maybe :-)
Paul, may I please have a thin slice of octopus.
Thank you.
Very well written cav...though, I think I'll pass on the octopus.
Cav, is there anything on your menu about how to make a creative peanut butter sandwich? I've given up on bologna.
I'm impressed, Cav, really! That review was just a garnish for something we already know.
VERY nice publicity, Cav! <applause>
Thanks everybody. I just saw the photo they used, and it doesn't look too bad.

Miss Letty, try your peanut butter sammich on raisin bread. A big improvement IMO.
dang - the Toronto Life site doesn't have the pic. Great to find the listing online!
