Great day to be a Packer fan living in Chicago.

Five in a row, baby.

Tough loss for GB, Rodgers played his heart out, defense couldn't get the job done at the end.

understatement.

final play, how can you have man-to-man in the end zone> You know what's coming.

@panzade,
I think they were in a zone. Problem was, Steelers sent two WRs and TE toward the right side of the end zone, leaving the DB with no assigment hovering near the left goalpost and guarding nobody with Bell one-on-one on Wallace. Not sure if he had gone over to help in the corner if he'd made a difference, with the ball thrown to the outside the way it was, and if he leaves that spot he leaves the middle of the end zone wide open to any of the other receivers coming across and underneath for that up-the-middle pass that Favre has made much of his career on.

Some great throws by Roethlisberger, a couple of boneheaded penalties by the GB defense.

@sozobe,
Damn it, soz, you have to pick a side!

(How cool if they met in the playoffs, though. Pity it wouldn't be at Lambeau...)

@patiodog,
I know, I suck. If forced to choose it seems that Vikes trump Packers, I'm just too big of a Favre fan. And I *like* Peterson and Rice and all those other guys now that I've been dragged into it by Brett.

Anyway, what a day today...! The Vikings game was great, the Packers won too, and the Eagles lost to the Cowboys, which means the Vikes get a 1st-round bye in the playoffs. Whew.

Brett was never much of a cold-weather player, he'd do OK and the really cold weather did a number on everyone so he'd often do more-OK than the competition, but I think the dome is good for him in terms of late-season games and the home-field advantage.

@sozobe,
I suck too. I just can't turn my back on the greatest Packer in history... though I don't know that Peterson's 4.4 yards a carry is even as good as Ryan Grant's 4.4 yards a carry when you factor in the fumbles. And I could never like Rice as much as Donald.

Brett's 107.2 Quarterback Rating should be enough to silence EVERY critic, considering only 10 passers in the history of the game EVER posted a better year... and he attempted more passes per Interception than ANY of those 10 (and only fumbled twice all year to boot! Shocked ) It was an MVP worthy season by every measure.

Good article about rightful Defensive MVP and most certainly team MVP Charles Woodson: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Aqyu.niLB62.DEmGkWlDWtQ5nYcB?slug=cr-woodsongreenbay010610&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

Hate to see the Packers lose such a heart-breaker. Rodgers was spectacular...but he blinked first.
