Piff - I've just sent a note to Mr. Piffka's e-ddress - listing the 2 accounts you've already got within the aktbird account. The email will come from andrew t (or some variation of that). Do you think that account might be blocked by Mr. Piffka?

Yes... but the message didn't show up. You said you'd send it to my new email address as well as the one from care2 (that I think is no longer viable). I was waiting for the msg. (thinking maybe it would come via care2 or something) before I got back to you. Hasn't.

Mr.P hasn't put any blocks on his email either and he's supposed to be on the lookout for something for me. I can no longer access his email through my computer, though.

Sorry to be such a bother. Crying or Very sad

Ms. Piffka - if you can remember the password for the piffka account, I suspect the email will be IN that account's email - if you hadn't set it up to be forwarded to one of your regular accounts.

Sumac, received reply from Helen saying you are very welcome to use the photo because she knows...

..."you'll keep in mind those stunningly beautiful creatures endangered and she'll <you> support efforts to save what few are left running around the tundra"...

I'd say that was 'permission' ~ Very Happy

Beth, It wouldn't have occurred to me to forward it anywhere. I think the email account came as part of the registration which I started when I was using their cards. As far as the password..... eh... maybe. I'll go check... that may have been why I have my other care2 account. I know I tried to start a new one in order to be in the aktbird group, but it didn't work because I did something out of order. That's my group of one.

OK -- found my password and it works but... whew, I'm getting a run-around... first this:

Cleo has a funny account like that - with an email stuck inside it ... grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

They (the care2 helping elves) will actually help you fix stuff like that if you contact their help desk - I had to call on them to reconnect me to my primary account.

Funny how those tiny bits of bytes keep mysteriously doing weird and unusual things.......

We all know by now that computers work with 0's and 1's. That's actually just a teeeeeny-tiny pulse of electromagnetic energy magnetizing a teeeeeny-tiny dot of space on the drive you are working with. Those dots, which are all lined up in a row, are the "1's" - and the spaces in between, which are not magnetized, are the "0's"........

Question=
Which one does the talkin in the computer? The "dot" or the "not dot"?

HeHeHeHe - - -

Oh, and by the way, ya'll did know that a computer is NEVER right didn't you??? They never guess the right answer. They only eliminate all the WRONG answers possible at the speed of light and leave the RIGHT answer for us humans to choose from.

All clicked - Let's all take a 'byte' for the rainforest.....

(I came back)
CD's - while working on the same 1 and 0 principle - are configured a little differently - they have teeeeeeny-tiny pits all in a row. The new recordable CD's work a little differently also, they have a chemistry that reacts to the laser light forming teeeeeeny-tiny dots of a different color all in a row.

There is going to be a full-eclipse of the moon tonight, one in which the moon turns dark red.
This won't happen again for many years.
Totality lasts about an hour.

Total lunar eclipses occur every couple of years or so.

For thousands of years, people considered the events to be omens.

This time, Boston Red Sox fans hope the red moon will help their team to end an 86-year-long losing streak and win the World Series.

Scientists aren't commenting on the superstition, but they plan to use the eclipse to learn more about the quality of Earth's atmosphere, Espenak said.

Wednesday's eclipse is expected to look more reddish because of the extra ash released by recent eruptions of Mount St. Helens in Washington state.

The next such celestial display will not be until March 2007.

To watch the eclipse, look for a spot with an unobstructed view to the east. In North America, the eclipse begins at 9:14 p.m. ET and ends at 11:45 p.m. ET.

The moon won't become completely dark but rather will turn a rusty-red coppery color. The color, literally a combination of all the sunsets all over the world, will come between 10:23 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. At deepest eclipse the southern edge of the moon is expected to be darkest because it comes closest to the center of Earth's shadow.

The reason for the color change is Earth's atmosphere. While it scatters blue sunlight giving us a blue sky, it bends or refracts the red sunlight. And so, as the full moon enters the Earth's shadow, the moon's colors may range from a reddish-copper to a deep blue-gray or even black.

First contact comes at 8:06 p.m. as the full moon enters Earth's lighter shadow (penumbra). However, the real show doesn't start until after 9:14 p.m. as the moon enters the deepest part of Earth's shadow. Totality begins at 10:23 p.m. and should last about 80 minutes.
